Fair warning: If you quit, you'll be reported

I always check to see if the person who left the game is offline (I try to give the benefit of the doubt), but if you are in another Halo match when the game your left ends, consider your self reported.

Feedback works, guys. While I agree penalties for quitting need to be increased/fixed, this is the best way to get this rectified for the time being.

Okay?

There are automatic bans for repeat quitters

Reporting will do nothing in this case as its already taken care of if they do it often

You just assume players leave because they are sore losers?
There were times when I had to go somewhere in a rush or had to do other things, and I would have to leave. I’m sorry, but video games aren’t that important when you have to stick to a match to the end or be penalized no matter why you had to go. It’s just a game. Some people have a life to live. Deal with it.

Why? There’s already a penalty for quitter.
I rather have them quit, than going AFK.

You’re just wasting your own time, but do what makes you happy I guess.

It ruins the experience for other people.

As stated if someone is in a rush, has to leave they log out. This happens and I don’t report. It really ruins the game for others when they quit. Some of us have very limited time to game and don’t want the 30-60 minutes we get ruined by people who can’t handle a rough game or two.

You’re right, they have the right to move onto another game. I have the right and tool to have them face some consequences.

Yeah sure, whatever floats your boat, I try not to enter a game if I know I have to leave but sometimes OMG life gets in the way! If the dog starts pacing I gotta get him outside, sorry bro. If you honestly have a bad connection sometimes you get booted, sorry bro. If my phone goes off and I’m on an emergency call, sorry bro. Sometimes those of us with lives have to go, don’t be sore about it. Would you rather I go AFK and get the opposition 10 free kills? Let the matchmaking algorithms do their job.

It takes 20 seconds by accessing their gamercard from the battle report.

Yo, I loose plenty of matches and vice versa I win plenty of matches. Or its that I have a short gap between both but I get into the game even if I loose I wouldn’t want to quit.
But the main reason I’m posting a reply would be to ask exactly what would be the penalties for dropping a match?

You don’t realize you’re wasting time because the game tracks quitters on its own?

If people quit just to quit they get time out bans…Thats all that will happen its not a horrible offense

Also if you’re really that serious about the game may I suggest you use an LFG site, they don’t have as many people as Destiny LFG but you can still get lucky.

I get the game tracks it, but it can’t be that much of a time out. Every other Arena game has at least one quitter, BTB is worse due to the increased population.

Am I the only one imagining OP as Randall from Recess?

not anymore, lol!

You should probably wait until 343 fixes their servers to stop randomly kicking people out of the game.

Many times while in parties of 3 or 4, we will have 2 of us suddenly drop out of the game with “server error” while everyone else is unaffected.
The fact that it happens to multiple people at the exact same time demonstrates that it is not an issue on the players’ side, in addition to the fact that all other internet services are still up & running just fine in our homes, and no other games have this issue at such rampant frequency.

Also, the vehicle physics makes it incredibly difficult to not betray team mates, and a boot looks the same as a quit from the post-carnage screen. 343 needs to fix this as well.

Of course, sometimes it’s much more obvious like when a player is saying “-Yoink- this, -Yoink- that, -Yoink- this game!!” and THEN drops from the game…
in that case, I say report away.

And rest assured that once 343 addresses these issue, I will be in full agreement with you & also reporting people from the post-game screen providing they are already in another game!

Oh and btw:
>“I always check to see if the person who left the game is offline (I try to give the benefit of the doubt”
Good on you for this!

Arena has quit problems but I haven’t noticed every other game, and to be honest I don’t see what you’re trying to achieve here. Even if somebody bothers to read your report what do you think will happen? Probably just a temporary suspension that the computers would have picked up anyway! Lol all you’re doing is pushing more reports to a guy who really doesn’t want to hear from you!

So if people being worthless, or worse than worthless, is now an offense for which you might be banned, I’ll make it a point to report you every time you go negative in your k/d. Cheers!

I had some wonky games where I dropped, 3, I think (probably already checked by someone) so I started checking to see if the person was offline.
My internet is pretty weak, I am in the sticks. But you bring up some valid points. Thanks for pointing them out. I’ll limit my reports to those type of players that you mentioned.

really? are you trolling
