Fact not Fiction

Imagine if Infinity Ward or Treyarch suddenly decided to make CoD into an arena shooter instead? the series would fail, that is what is happening to Halo, they decided to change the essence of the game and thanks to that the game is spiraling down to its own demise.

You can’t really call this fact with no evidence to back it up. You can only speculate. It could also mean that people don’t want arena shooters anymore.

> You can’t really call this fact with no evidence to back it up. You can only speculate. It could also mean that people don’t want arena shooters anymore.

Or that Halo’s original market audience, Arena-shooter players, don’t want to play Halo anymore because it’s been demolished and “Frankensteined” into a COD-esque class-based shooter.

It’s funny how badly the series has failed since they added classes.

I’m sorry but you need to provide evidence for something you claim is fact. You’re own opinion doesn’t count as fact, only towards yourself it does.

Nice copy paste from my comment on this thread brah!

At least change the words a bit.

The PC market’s most popular games are arena-based. League of Legends has exploded in popularity, for example.

League of legends is not an arena based game. In fact even if we pick the same character our champions are very different due to the mastery abilities(Passive abilities like a WoW talent tree that works just like Perks in CoD and Halo 4) I have picked.

In fact there is nothing arena about the ARTS/MOBA about them sans their names. Everyone starts usually with the same gold, but have different roles, abilities, and stats.

Do you wanna try that one again?

I’m using “arena” with balanced and on even playing fields. I realize the choosing of champions may offset that a little, but by arena many people use that term in accordance with balance.

Don’t try to act all condescending. I realize it’s not a perfect fit, but my example was to demonstrate how not every gamer in the world is into mindless instant gratification.

An arena based game states that everyone starts with even starts. This means same weapons, same stats/attributes. ARTS/MOBA games have neither of those, besides starting gold and starting position. In fact not only are your characters blatantly different, but also so are the different sides of the maps.

More so, all three major ARTS/MOBA games at the moment have glaring balance problems, ranging from heroes/champions, to items. These problems never go away and are a constant balancing act for the developers. So I’m trying to figure out where you got the idea to use the term arena for ARTS/MOBA games as a synonym for balance. When it is clear that you are poorly informed on the genre.

A better choice would have been chess.

Even opportunity can also be considered an even start. E. g., Halo: Reach. There’re loadouts but everyone has the same loadouts to choose from. Idk what should be considered an arena. Halo 4 isn’t arena based in any case but Reach is absolutely fine with me in terms of equal opportunity.

BTW, a chess game isn’t equal since whites have a big advantage. However, a chess match with even number of games is.

While I agree with even opportunity, but at that point it becomes muddled and hard to tell what is balanced and what isn’t. The OP was using arena in the terms of Unreal, or Halo CE where even starts are what I described.

Learn the definition of fact and fiction before uttering those words.

Your opinion is your opinion.

Your opinion is not fact.

Speculation is Fiction, bruh

I’d agree with this.

Similar to if Halo 5 was purely a racing game with no guns. Most of the established fanbase would leave for not getting what they wanted.

Funny thing, is that it wasn’t his opinion he copy pasted part of a reply I had posted on a different thread.

While I agree that classes in Halo are terrible and I wish that we could get real Halo back every damn day, it doesn’t change the FACT that his statement isn’t factual. It’s an assumption that we have no way of proving unless someone has a DeLorean with 1.21 gigawatts that can take us back to make Reach never happen.

I want the original Halo arena shooter back as much as the next guy/gal.

Off Topic: Not sure if you name means what I think it means but go Sounders. :stuck_out_tongue:

And,you Sir,have most likely got it correct. Times and play styles/preferences,have vastly changed and moved on since the ancient days of Halo 3.

And what are you basing that off of? Halo 4 isn’t an arena shooter so obviously not that.

Here is an example of a fact OP, Microsoft is continuing to make Halo games, Microsoft would not do this if the Halo franchise was not making money, therefore the Halo franchise is making money, therefore people are buying Halo games, therefore Halo is not spiraling downward. Yes the Halo 4 multiplayer population may be down compared to other Halo games, but there could be any number of reasons for that, I have seen an equal number of love posts on these forums for the multiplayer as I have hate posts.

Your "fact’ is extremely manipulative. MS contracted 343 to make halo 4,5,6 so they are making them no matter what. Also yes halo 4 did sell good but guess what? There is no way to tell if a game is good or not when you first buy it. Usually if something is bad then the next iteration receives the bad sales.
