Just trying to find any post to leave my feedback in, but yeah. I’m appalled by progression, customization and the battle pass.

I’m a sucker for customization in videogames, and I absolutely adore Halo’s. Except… Infinite’s doesn’t have much unless you pay. ONE free helmet in the pass and it’s among the last levels. Why don’t I have a suite of basic armors to choose from? Every single player in every lobby wears the same armor because of how little options we have off the get go.

I’m hoping 343 makes progression faster by release, but I would at least expect some variety of vanilla armor. Otherwise, the “player creativity and expression” we were promised is reduced to basic colors unless you pay and/or grind

I don’t see how anyone can defend a $20 armor set. I mean that’s a third of the price of a whole game. Think of how many assets are in the campaign, you’re telling me this set cost more than a dollar to make. They’re selling these skins at like 200% ROI (random number) and people are actually buying them.

Hey I’m happy about all of this. It means I can have an excuse to get to 152 in Halo 5… :joy::joy:

Earning cosmetics and customizing one’s armor is clearly part of the intended game design; this process is part of the gameplay. “It’s just cosmetics” doesn’t apply when that is the case.

If anyone wants to play the game with the full experieince (as it was marketed and developed), it is throttled- and to those who can afford it, it is still throttled even after they bought into an expensive and exploitative cash-grab. This isn’t just crappy for us, it’s crappy for the developers of the game as well, and it even threatens the game’s longevity.

Why?
It’s perfectly reasonable to criticize how terrible the free rewards are in this game. The free rewards are so bad that they can literally jeopardize the long term health of this game. 75% of the free track are LITERALLY “challenge swaps”. Non paying players are not going to keep playing if they grind for 3 hours, just recieve a challenge swap, grind for another 5 hours, and get ANOTHER CHALLENGE SWAP.

The free rewards in this game are, factually, bad.

Well said, I’m so disappointed in 343, I trusted Jerry Hook and in return I got one of the worst microtransaction experiences in the industry.

People def have the reason to be PO. I don’t even play halo as my main game, haven’t even played halo in quite some time and I’m PO. I like good gameplay, this game is incredibly fun. But it’s very disheartening how bad the progression is and lack of care for a leveling system outside the ridiculous battle pass.

Hopefully it’s fixed ASAP. It’s imperative they get this stuff sorted NOW.

Devils advocate here, the game hasn’t technically launched yet. this is an “Early Access Beta that’s progression rolls over to launch”

Your right.
There is almost no armor in the game.
You have to buy the pass to get anything good.
There is no meaningful leveling system.
Content is going to be heavily stretched out over months
Challenges should be more optional
The price scale for everything is way too high.
You don’t get credits toward the next battlepass

What do you think will change on the 8th of Dec ? 343i stated…

While you may experience some bumps and bugs during this beta period, it does mark the official start of Halo Infinite Season 1, with all day-one maps and modes enabled as well as the full Season 1 Battle Pass.

Seems like the full multiplayer suite from that statement.

I expected the battle pass to be similar to MCC´s with just a few items locked, and coatings to be armor paterns were you can change the colours. Sadly what i found was a system made to force players to spend money to get SKINS and around 90% of the customization. To make things even worse the buying campaign will not give you acces to those items because its a DLC.

Just a reminder that there is a collection of 6 Halo games (most of which are good) with a horde of content that can be purchased for $40 and has NO monetization (what should be the standard for ‘live service’ games).

Tired of Halo Infinite? Either because of the gameplay or monetization? That’s alright, treat yourself to something better…

Ok gonna make a lukewarm take here:

I’d be willing to pay 80$ for Infinite’s multiplayer and campaign IF they fully remove the store. Keep the battlepass, drop the store, make the entire game 80$. I don’t care if I have to pay 80$ to play multiplayer, it’s GOOD multiplayer. Axe the microtransactions and make it a full paid AAA game.

Big facts. MCC is honestly a better game with better customization.

Myeah, the weeklies.
Assuming that they work properly without glitching.

They’re numerous and not paying for premium means you get to progress three at a time. Meaning, at any given moment you could complete by chance a difficult one and not be rewarded it. Or, complete one in a match, but not get to continue on a new one because it needs to reward you first and assign the new one to progress on.

Chasing these challenges also alter game behaviour, and I guarantee you we’ll start seeing threads on challenge farming full parties making matchmaking annoying if not full on frustrating. As well as the mentions of random players throwing the match to score kills with weapon X or something.
I have a challenge to one shot kill a driver in a vehicle with a sniper.
Let me chase that and I’m not going to be of much use with the sniper for the remainder of the match when I have a limited time to complete it. That being the time left on it, minus work, homework, studies and family time.

then you have Brian Jarrard the Community Director at 343 saying this on twitter:

“Thank you to everyone who has jumped into the #HaloInfintiebeta so far! FYI the team is looking at Battle Pass progression and gathering data from yesterday’s sessions and we’ll share updates as we have them. Please continue to share feedback and raise flags as you see them.”

Id post the direct url but this site wont let me :frowning:

No, $10 is for the battlepass alone. It’s $20 for the battlepass plus 25 level skips. If you buy the $10 battlepass, you no longer have access to purchase the 25 level skips, the bundle is gone. So it’s either spend $10 or $20 and one comes with the 25 level skips. Which with how much of a slog it is to level the pass up, you may as well drop $20 per pass. Especially when if you try to go back and get the level skips, it’s $2 per level.

This needs to be changed. Everything’s too overpriced.

Fans have burned up a lot of goodwill with 343 over the last decade, they owe us for sticking around for this BS. It’s not entitlement, it’s building back burned down bridges.
