so I see there is alot of complaints about halo 5’s radar
mostly because it doesn’t tell u where people are before getting melee’d. Relying on something too much could be your downfall
so I have to ask have u been relying on it every halo game or have u developed a spider sense
Always used the Mk1 eyeball personally.
The radar just doesn’t extend far enough.
I can practically sit in someone’s lap before they see me sometimes.
I agree doesn’t extend enough at all
I think the radar is just right can detect people on foot well enough but it is terrible for vehicles need a better sense of them
radar is good for pin point close quarters combat
The eyeballs have developed over millions of years, why have them if you’re not gonna use them properly. People that are complaining about the radar are the people that rely on it far too much, I only ever look at it during Warzone to see if there are any hostiles approaching my base.
Also, use your ears people!!! You can easily detect the sound of someone, sprinting, sliding or boosting anywhere near you.
I use my eyeballs all the time. Even to look at the radar…
I use both the radar isn’t that bad imo, I can catch people before they melee me most of the time but I like that its not ever time because now assassinations and first hit melee is more usable in game, plus I’ve always been the person that likes to look with my eyes over just starring at a map or radar 90% of the time.

But I don’t understand why “relying” on it was a problem. I understand that it probably needed to be reduced due to smaller map size and more mobility but I don’t think another 3 or 4 meters would hurt. Besides, knowing when to uses the tracker was a skill that had to be learned, but now it’s just useless.
I love the motion tracker it is perfect. Move slow “mid speed walk” or sprint around a corner and you can catch a camper off gaurd.
I don’t think people understand how slow the game would play if it was any bigger or a radius. Halo Reach played poorly because of the smart tracker with arrows.
I love the fact it doesn’t show above or below either. The worst thing they can do at this point to this game would be to increase the range.
Keep telling yourself you need it but stop watching it and you’ll learn to play without it and become better overall. Been turning motion tracker off since the CE days.

If anything, learning to read the limited radar that we have now is even more of a skill. What skill is there reading a radar that tells you if an enemy is above or below you?
It definitely needs a range buff, but the motion sensor shouldn’t be relied upon too much. Halo (and most all shooters) have such a narrow field of view that a motion sensor/radar helps compensate for a lack of peripheral vision.
