Exuberant witness in Halo: Infinite takes the place of Cortana in the original trilogy?
I am a newer halo fan, so please take this idea with a grain of salt 343.
Would be pretty cool having a monitor chilling with you, like a ghost in Destiny
So they would take the AI out of the monitor and into a chip that Chief can carry around? If they did that I think they’d have to tone down her personality, she is annoying as hell in the voice pack for H5 multiplayer I’d hate to have that in my ear the entire campaign lol
I’m a fan. I swap between her and the grunt as my announcer in H5

Secondly if you mean that EW could be like what Cortana was in original trilogy then no thanks really.
I highly doubt it. She’ll likely be pushed aside in favour of the new installation’s (hopefully) less overbearing monitor. Even then the “new” AI will likely just end up being Cortana.
That would feel so annoying. It’s like Guilty Spark all over again!

I don’t remember, but in HCEA terminals didn’t 343 guilty spark say that all the monitors from the halos had stopped checking in, fearing they had either gone rampant or captured? Don’t quote me on that.
Yeah, he says that they likely lost the ability to communicate, except for Tangent who he correctly assumed was going rampant. I had a look on the Wiki and apparently its briefly theorised in Hunters in the Dark that 07’s Monitor went into hiding after it found out what the UNSC and the Covenant had done to the other installations. So assuming that this isn’t another Sigma 7 scenario and Infinite actually is set on Zeta Halo, 343 have a few options when it comes to the next Monitor.
I think it would be cool if she manages to take control of some prometheans near the end and you’ve got some purple knights helping you out, watchers boosting your shield and such

Exuberant witness stayed back on the genisus instillation.
I’m fine with chief getting a new ai, even a forerunner one but I’d rather not use exuberant for that. she’s a nice character but I don’t need a super peppy optimistic little voice annoying me through out the whole game. also, no need for the grain of salt comment. being a newer halo fan doesn’t mean your opinion is less important than the rest of us.
