Extremely underrated soundtrack

So I love video soundtracks, I don’t really like “normal” music because I find the lyrics distracting so I listen to soundtracks, ambient, instrumental music.
I grew up playing and listening to Halo so its pretty important to me. When Halo 4 released I expect alot of people were pretty vocal about departure of Bungie, Marty and co and so on. I remember the soundtrack getting pretty negative feedback because it didn’t sound like “Halo” or Martys work - it wasn’t sweeping or grand enough.

Now I go through phases when I listen to different games on shuffle and lately i’ve had Halo 4 on, and man its so underrated. While it isn’t as grand or epic in its scope like Halo 1-3 / Reach its really awesome. I actually find it easier to put on in the background while on the computer than some of the other games because of the sounds.

There is frankly too many tracks to list as my favourites… I’d love for Neil Davidge to be involved in some way with future games, working with Kazuma Jinnouchi again.

Anyone else love this soundtrack like me?

I completely agree! As a matter of fact, Halo 4’s soundtrack is my favorite out of all the Halo games. I really like the more electronic vibe from songs like Ascendancy and Immaterial, plus the great new orchestral pieces like 117. They also didn’t rely on reusing the familiar Halo theme either, which was a refreshing change.

Yeah I really appreciate the fresh take on Halo, little to no reusing sounds from the previous games.

All of the Halo games (Including those that are not first person shooters) have an mazing soundtrack. Very atmospheric and if you close your eyes, the music actually takes you places.
