I don’t quit a lot of games. In fact…I rarely quit. I think that I’ve quit out of 2 games this month. WHen I logged in yesterday I saw the “You’ve quit a lot of games recently” notice but I ignored it thinking it was an error. During my next game some jett-packer drops down in front of my Scorpion and I accidentally betray him. He boots me (Whatever, doofus) and I end up getting suspended from play.
Weird. Frustrating. Annoying.
I go outside and do something more productive with my time.
This morning I log on to play and the server craps out and I end up going right to the “Game Over” screen. (The game never even starts) When I try to join another game…you guessed it…banned again.
Is anyone else experiencing something similar?
It is a problem with your connection causing you to lag out.
The problem is that the game treats every instance where you don’t complete a match as quitting. Whether you actually quit, lagged out, turned off the console, suffered from a power blackout, etc. doesn’t matter. That’s why people who lag out rather often are at risk of getting punished for quitting even if they don’t actually quit at all.
I nearly got my first quit ban that way. It should be the connection or host changing that would kick you out. I get those sometimes, they’re annoying even when I do very well…
There was one time that I was playing firefight doubles and my partner lagged out. when it was over , it said that I was banned from matchmaking. so even though I didn’t quit I still got banned.
Thanks all for the responses. I guess it’s just the tyranny of the internet. Bummer for me. On the flip side…went to the gym and fed a homeless guy so I guess there is life beyond Halo after all!

Yeah. This is really annoying, but 'fraid to say that it’s probably not the game or servers, but you’re lagging out of games for whatever reason (i.e. bad router/provider). This can get really annoying if you have to stop playing everyother game when this happens, so I’d say try to get your internet problem fixed. This is what I’ve experienced, so this may not be the the real reason, but I’d say it is very likely.
