Extraction gametype- thoughts?

read about it there. seems to me like its a mix between territories and stockpile.
you have to extract assets in set locations, you lay down a beacon a defend it until it is retrieved. the catch is that the other team can take over during the last seconds of the extraction and make it their own.
they explain that like: “teams must defend the beacon in order to prevent the others from converting the existing extraction process into their own favor”

also the way that its worded makes it seem like there might be more than two teams in this gametype? i’m not sure, you would think that they would say “teams must defend the beacon in order to prevent the other team from converting…” if there were only two teams. i don’t know, it could go either way. the screenshot of the gametype shows a red and a blue going at it so it’s conflicting.
the gametype seems interesting though.

It seems like 343i’s version of territories. I like it, as it adds a little more realism to the whole thing. I definitely see it as being fun.

IMO territories is much more like dominion, but it’s like half territories half stockpile, in that you only get the points at a certain time and the other team can snag it and get the point last second. just like stockpile.

Its not Invasion, but it looks very interesting. I have my eye on this come launch day.

I’ve seen a video of extraction, and it looks really enteraining.

WHAT? WHERE?

Source? I am eager to see.

I’ve seen the video as well. Won’t link to it because it’s obviously not legal…yet.

But I guess we can talk about it? Because the info is official. If not, please give me a heads up!
Doesn’t look THAT amazing to be honest. It’s sort of like Territories, mixed with Generator Defense in a way.
Looks really dynamic because you can indeed steal a stash of resources at the very last seconds. But it’s not something that is really new. Don’t know how to explain it.

It sounds great…a bit misleading perhaps, as it sounds a lot like a sort of Invasion. But seeing it in use is a bit of a letdown. But perhaps that will be different if we play it ourselves.

Oh ok, I understand.

Sounds like invasion slayer to me…
