Both medals dont work as intended.
Sayanara: “Damage an enemy before they fall to their death.”
-The medal doesnt get awarded because it doesnt work when a player is killed by an instant-death barrier, whether hard-coded or placed in Forge. However, if a player is damaged and is “killed by the guardians”, the person who damaged said player will get a Sayanara medal. No maps conveniently allow this to happen as frequently as it should to allow for the medal to even exist.
Extermination: “Wipe out an enemy team with at least an Overkill.”
-This medal just flat out doesnt work. I got an Overkill on Empire CTF within like 3 seconds and the whole team of 4 was dead, together, for roughly 4 seconds before any respawned. It worked in the Beta, but doesnt now. Please fix this.
I also am having difficulty with the “Extermination” medal not registering. I am strictly a “SWAT” player and I have wiped out the enemy team countless times and never do I log in to see that I have received “Extermination”. How does one gets a “Killtastrophie” without recieving “Extermination” is beyond me.
I don’t think Phaeton Assist works, either. It’s a shame Exterm doesn’t work, because it’s one of the hardest medals to achieve.
I think they have now fixed it, as in one of Pingys videos he had recently he got the extermination, but im not too sure about sayonara, and i also think air assassinations are broke too. rip

Pingy replied to a question in his comments on that video asking if Exterminations were now fixed, and he said he’s noticed they only get awarded in that Triple Team Slayer playlist and “don’t appear to get awarded correctly” when he got them. I have a feeling they were being awarded correctly based off of the beta’s system for Exterminations in that enemy players may or may not be able to respawn, but Halo 3’s system of awarding one if every enemy player was dead on an Overkill regardless of the number of players. This means he could get the Extermination against 6 enemies with an Overkill if that specific kill resulted in all of the enemies either in game or on that specific team were currently respawning.
343, is there any validity as to why Exterms are functioning, albeit somewhat in only a temporary rotational playlist?
I never have seen the sayonara medal until i looked on waypoint for the first time. However extermination medals will show up if obtained but only in game and afterwards in post game will not show up. The noise and medal is there except for in the post game. Meaning you cant get it. Ive seen the medal multiple times in forge mess arounds and once whilst i was spawn trapping the hell out of that mystery mansion map with a gavel on custom games and once in arena. However I’ve never seen the medal show up post game

It wont show up in the post-game carnage report. It still works (for the most part) in-game and is awarded in your medals chest on Waypoint. It’s earned. It just doesnt show up on Post-game for bragging pleasure.
