I was playing swat today and I received a killtacular (5 kills). After the announcer went through all multikills I waited for the extermination. But the extermination never came, why!? I checked the enemy team and it contained 4 people, I KILLED 5! what the hell is going on, I earned this metal and 343 denied it…maybe the metal doesn’t exist anymore like the perfect, sharpshoter…ect.
They removed the medal but made it a commendation which is too easy to get.
Instant respawns…this was a failed troll, if not now you know lol

But yeah, You have to kill them FAST, BEFORE one of them respawns apparently
In your case Im assuming the first person you killed hit x immediately causing you not to get it

No, if you EVER read the description of the extermination medal in the past Halo games, you would realize that YOU have to put all enemy players into respawn-time AT THE SAME TIME with, at least, an overkill.
Since this game have insta respawn-time, you:
A) Kill the whole team at the same time (huge explosion?)
B) You ar lucky enough that the people on the opposite team decide to not respawn imediately.

So basically its
A) Near impossible
B) impossible
Well that is just spectacular.
If you really want to get an Extermination medal, just play a gametype that doesn’t have instant respawns. I’ve gotten to Triple Kill many times in CTF, but I still haven’t been able to get that elusive 4th player. One day…

Yes, I would LOVE to get exterminations all the time in SWAT but it is’t something that makes or breaks the game.
It’s kind of a double edged sword, a catch-22 if you will. Instant respawns make SWAT even faster when it was already fast-paced, what with the one shot kills and all. However, you do have to worry about enemies spawning “near” their teammates immediately, increasing your chances of death.
I was playing some DLC MM last night and couldn’t instant spawn, it threw me off at first and made me a little anxious, but I did enjoy it. Having that in SWAT could help out with streaks and multikills/exterminations, but it would also allow people to spawn camp quite regularly.
Either way, SWAT needs to be made permanent and have a couple more maps (probably coming in Feb.)
I could definitely go for carbine only/lightrifle only SWAT too. Personally, I think having those as a separate type of SWAT would be better than including them as loadout options. That way, you know what you are getting into when you vote.
I got extermination in infinity slayer 
it’s in my file share, on abandon I found a scattershot and ordered speed boost. Bodies turning to dust and hearing the overkill extermination said was beautiful.

Alot of people have complained the same thing as well. 343 should have just implemented it as killing every member of an enemy team at least once in a multikill. (Team of 4 = Overkill, 5 = Killtacular). Killing 3 of 4 and then killing one of those first 3 again for an Overkill wouldn’t suffice as you didnt kill the 4th member of the team.
^^^^With Instant Respawns thats how Exterms SHOULD have been. CTF seems the easiest way to get it now since it’s 10 second respawns.
