Seriously? A mode like this and 343 allows maps with giant death pits that are super easy to fall into?! 343 when you update this playlist, make sure NOT to take any maps with any sort of death pit.
Don’t fall into the death pit?

It’s not that easy. Please do not post useless info.
Which death pit are you falling into? Should they also take the Rig out of MM?

There’s a difference between Breakout and Slayer, Breakout is 4 players, once they’re gone round over. Not to mention almost every map in breakout is made in forge, so your argument isn’t really valid at this point.

Maybe parts of the map with death pits could be really easy to fall into yes. I used to fall of Tyrant a lot at the rock part. But it’s useful to stop being clumsy…

It’s not being clumsy, it’s being surronded by enemies on all sides and falling off a ledge, it’s poor map design.
I think the better solution is map awareness. Just like every map, there are hazards you shouldn’t be in. Death pits create variety. You can use them defensively, or offensively.
Pits are part of the game. Learn the map and learn where not to fall off. Just because you trip over your own feet and fall to your death doesn’t make it the map’s fault. If I blamed the map every time I fell off of it I’d probably not even be playing this game.
Like damn, if the sayonara medal actually worked I’d probably hold the record for being sayonara’d the most. Chill, it’s a hole in the ground, it can’t hurt you if you don’t let it.

Still Death Pits shouldn’t be on small maps like Atlas, there’s hardly enough room to manuever as is.
Maybe you shouldn’t play that gametype. I wouldn’t want you on my team.
Also your point about breakout gametypes having 1 life is invalid since there ARE respawns in Extermination.

I know but still that’s not my point. The point is once all enemies are dead one team wins, it feels kinda unfair when you’re last man and you get spartan charged into a pit, or you’re under so much fire that you don’t have time to check your surroundings, you fall in. As for being on your team, I wouldn’t want to either as I can’t stand elitist competitive players.

Everyone else still had good points. You just need to learn the maps and then you won’t fall into pits anymore. Should be pretty simple since the maps are all so small.
Jesus, OP. Reading all of your responses to people’s post reduces my respect for this post even more. Mostly because of the fact that you haven’t taken a chance to consider it might be your problem and not the map’s. I’ve had the chance to meet some of the forgers that made these maps, and got to playtest a few of them (not 343 officially). The maps really have no issue with death pits, so this is a personal issue on your side. Either don’t play Extermination, or learn to avoid the death pits.
I would say bad map design overall. Suicide is part of the game but it shouldn’t be a factor. If it’s to balance who controls the high ground it’s not much of a balance. There is no room to maneuver up there in battle and leads to many unskillful deaths.

In the past, people tended to hate the death pit on Atlas, but over time they warmed up to it after they learned how to maneuver themselves in that area.
Additionally, Atlas was designed to heavily punish mistakes, which the death pit plays a part in.

Then check your surroundings before fighting someone?
Or just learn to not be in that specific part of the map as a whole?
This isn’t an “elitist” problem, it’s you blaming the game for your mistakes.
Powerups, especially damage boost, are suppose to be hard to obtain.
Be it a death pit or high pillar, they should require a challenge for the player to obtain.
And if they aren’t there, they are still areas of the map that require player awareness.
Lots of people had this problem with the Rig early on but they learned the map and now the only time I really see a player fall into the pit in the center is from Spartan charge or an unfortunate ground pound.

no isn’t it’s poor knowledge of your surroundings
You can feel free to use your stabilizers any time, go into the ground pound animation, or both. Your choice.
Also, the most important of what seems to be your problem is knowing how to live! Learn it.
