I don’t understand how they put the standard AR in this playlist instead of the extended mag variant! It’s a small detail sure, but a missed opportunity for a number of reasons.
In Halo CE the ARs had 60 round clips, AR extended mag has 64 so it’s close enough.
If you’re doing a throwback might as well try and be as accurate as possible, especially given how easy it would be to include.
Currently barely anyone in the playlist uses the AR whatsoever, too weak compared to the pistol in most ranges. Extended mags would certainly make the AR more useful, by how much depends on your style of play.
Small way with little effort to improve the gameplay in my opinion. Other than that tbh I do actually like the playlist, it’s what I’ve been playing most atm. Maps are great and love the pistol so thanks 343.
Even if they did that, everyone is just keep using the CE Magnum. This isn’t the CE AR where it’s has fastest ttk that’s faster then the SMG in Halo 5. So if they did no one would use it really unless it was the CE AR.
> Makes you wonder if the 60 round “Heavy” Assault Rifle will make a return in Halo 6 through the Spirit of Fire Arsenal.
> (inb4: Reach had the 32 round AR, that’s why I said the “Heavy” AR, to see if the community will differentiate the two).
You could also just call the Reach one the MA37 and the Halo CE one the MA5B

And even then they wouldn’t, because CE pistol. Anyone who’s played Halo CE online or over LAN will tell you the first thing everyone does in-game is toss their AR for something else.
