Extended beta time for MCC's terrible launch

Seriously, the fact that the MCC is practically unplayable makes me feel like we should be given compensation. Extend the Halo 5 beta from 3 weeks to 5. Maybe some new emblems too. Just give me something worth the wait.

Brilliant!

Let’s pull even more polishing and development time away from Halo 5 because another game wasn’t great at launch.

You just want to play the beta longer. Betas aren’t cheap, and will be pulling a lot of time and resources that could be used in areas like polishing and really implementing what was learned from the beta well.

All of your responses are incredibly well written.

How about you stop whining? Last time I checked making 4 games in one plus another remastered one, each with their own multiplayer, is not easy.

You can’t blame anyone for trying to get compensation for a defective game. Most people I know with MCC can hardly get any games online. Load times last between 20-45 minutes and the lag is terrible. It may not be easy to make a game that includes 4 games in 1, but that’s not the consumer’s problem. When a company releases a game it should be 100% ready to go. I actually don’t think extending the beta is a bad idea.

If Halo had bots, players could still enjoy competitive multiplayer action without going online. Adding bots is something 343 should highly take into consideration. Xbox Live problems would not be such a tough hit to players if this feature was added.

I do think games should be released without crazy problems, but there is no reason to extend the beta.

It’s getting pretty old hearing all of the demands people are throwing out. You’d think you had a personal vendetta against 343i. Like they scorned your honor or family name somehow. Boo-hoo. If you’re done with Halo, be done with Halo. But don’t come onto these forums like every other self-entitled butthurt user who feels like they got a raw deal. That sentiment has been well voiced, I assure you.

I’d be okay with this, if only to test the networking functionality. They really should get that right for next Fall.

Yes, because extending an already record-setting beta time frame is a brilliant move for development time…

Seriously, people need to stop acting so entitled. Yes, it’s broken, yes, it’s an awful launch woes trend we have going on in the games industry, but last I checked, 343 owes you nothing except for the game that you purchased working.

Game polishing is never done until after the mechanics of the game are completed, which is why the beta will be at 720p. “You just wan’t to play the beta longer”. That goes without saying… Extending beta time will not affect the development of the game. The people taking the communities feedback are part of a different department that report to the developers. Just slap some of Microsoft servers into the beta, release it for download and that’s it on the developers side.

Now if only those 4 games worked. Then this thread wouldn’t even exist.

If I was done with Halo, I wouldn’t be on the Halo forums. I don’t care how tired you are of hearing this as it needs to be said more. I, as the consumer am disappointed with the half -Yoinked!- product I was given. The fact that this made it passed bug testing is unfathomable and I will not be silenced as this deserves harsh criticism. “Self entitled butthurt”, more liked an extremely pissed off customer that purchased a broken game and I have every damn right to be.
