…why did you bring back the Rocket hog? it was pretty much useless in reach(it was only there because it sounded cool really, not because it was actually a good vehicle), so why bring it back in halo 4? Compared to the Guass hog(And even in the regular hog in some cases), the rocket hog was inferior. (On the forums from what i have seen) People didn’t really use it in reach because they liked it, they used it because it is the only vehicle left to use. I hope that the rocket hog gets fixed in halo 4 so it isn’t the POS vehicle that we all remember from reach. If it doesn’t get fixed, I hope that the rocket hog die’s in halo 4.
It’s because sometimes that Gauss Hog is too powerful. In maps where a Gauss would destroy all opposition, it’s more balanced to bring a Rocket Hog in, which is extremely powerful but harder to use and will have less of an effect on the game. It also suits a different style and purpose than the Turret Warthog.
Confirmed back in game?
I don’t know I kind of liked it.
I never had a problem with the RH. No offense, but you’re probably not that good with it, so you’re hating on it. It happens.
Imagine Hog race with the Gauss.
It’d be better if you wanted to fire all six Rockets from the Hog by tapping the trigger six times instead of once. It would be so much better if the Rocket Hog doesn’t fire all shots automatically with one trigger shot.
If the rockets traveled faster it would be much more useful. However in reach it was great for destroying the banshee or falcon.
replace with gauss hog as some one else stated in another thread

First I seen them oh well, one thing that comes to mind is they couldn’t think of a new Idea for warthog or just a bit lazy and kept with the crap Rocket Hog.

I don’t use it that much, I can use it decently depending on the map and the situation I’m in. I don’t like using it because the long reload coupled with the relatively low damage(I’ve seen people survive two full volleys from the rocket turret because of the inaccuracy and slow projectile speed of the rockets). In my experience, the chain hog with a competent driver and gunner, will always beat a rockethog (Even if they have a competent gunner and driver(Although this depends on the situation of course).
Love that thing! But I can live without the Rockethog.

I would like the rocket hog a bit better if it did this. It would be way more controllable and it would actually be more effective against vehicles because less chance that the rockets might miss.
Seeing as how the RH sends everything flying thru the air like paper on a windy day, I highly doubt a regular Hog with “competent” operators are going to win against a RH with competent operators. People fail to realize that the rockets on a RH must be led in most situations.
I played a lot of Multi Team when I played Reach, which resulted in me playing alot of RHR. (Why people always pick it, I have no idea.) In doing so I became very good at using the RH in regular gametypes that had it on maps. It’s a great anti-vehicle Hog IMO.

Yet another post where the assumption is that Halo 4 will be like Reach.
Seriously, 343i didn’t even leave Reach itself alone. Why does everyone think anything from Reach is just going to be a cut-and-paste? They’re going to change everything except the rocket hog? And if they didn’t no one would complain enough to get them to fix it?

Exactly! The shots felt unnecessarily uncontrollable, because there are times when you use the Hog and nearly all of the shots become misleading to the target which unnecessary in my view.
I do like the idea of the Rocket Hog on Halo: Reach being added and Halo 4. However, it wasn’t great on Reach and I hope it’s been improved for Halo 4 just like how I think it should be, really.

This really depends if all the rockets hit. mid to long range, the rocket hog can’t touch a Chain hog if you have a good driver(which seem to be in a shortage these days). I would point out that the rockets only seed the mongoose, warthog, and ghost flying, The Revenant wont be sent flying because of how the vehicles is. The rocket hog needs to be in close quarters in order to fight other vehicles(Other than tanks, which are big and slow enough that evading the rockets isn’t that likely). Which is how the chain hog wins, because if you keep the rocket hog at range, it will lose in my experience.

I never made that assumption.
You know, just because it’s back in the game, that doesn’t mean that it’s balanced just like it was in Reach. It’s almost guaranteed that they modified its behaviour to make it more powerful and useful.
Honestly, it’s silly to judge how things will act in Halo 4 based on how they are in past games.
Whoa now, good sir ill have you know that the rocket hog is the bees knees!
