Explain Pivots and Hinges

Can anyone explain Halo 5 Forge Pivot and Hinge mechanics and how to use them. For instance I’ve seen maps where they are used to make pelicans and such look like there flying in a circle.

Take 2 objects.

Weld the hinge to one, and the joint to the other.
Set the object intended to move to normal physics, release.

For pelicans flying in circles.

The hinge can be welded at a distance.
The rest is scripted movement, and the hinge holding it to a circle.

Thanks this actually helps but one map I checked the items and none of them had scrips but still moved.

I’m pretty sure Forge Labs has a video explaining how to use joints and whatever to make flying pelicans with no scripts.

Ahoy! A wild Forge Labs video explaining these.
