I’m asking a seemingly simple question: Explain how the radar is supposed to function.
What determines if a player is above or below or level with me?
What determines if a player is shooting, sprinting, camo, or crouching?
What determines if a player will disappear or appear on my radar, assuming they are within the 18m range that it covers?
What determines if two red dots appear for a single enemy?
Thanks for answering. I’ve seen too many issues with the radar and I think 343i must have changed how it functions at its core, not just in its range.
Please help me understand how the radar is supposed to work in this game.
The dot is faded if target is above or below you, can’t tell which though.
Tracker does not indicate shooting.
If the dots moving really fast, target is probably sprinting.
Camo’d or crouched targets will not appear on tracker.
Two dot for a single enemy? I’d assume you just didn’t see the other target or it crouch walked off and hid.

I’m going to go back and watch the film where I noticed 2 dots.
I get that camo’d and crouched targets don’t show up, but why does my radar not show enemies that are within the 18m range that are moving? This happens far too often, and half the time it’ll actually show the dot for a while, but remove it after a second or two.

When an enemy player is near you and walking/sprinting there will be a red dot. If they happen to be crouched you won’t see a dot.
One thing I am personally unclear on is if an enemy is just standing still or moving at crouch speeds will they still appear? Does the action of crouching take them off radar? Or is it just the speed at which you move while crouching?
