Does anyone think that because of how the campaign is set up that we will be able to get experience points towards our rank? Or will it only be based on multiplayer? I’ve wondered this for awhile.
I vaguely recall a previous Community Update or something where someone at 343 mentioned campaign play would contribute to XP… wish I could give you more detail than that homie.

Hey that’s pretty cool. I’m a heavy campaign player so this makes me very happy.
They talked about experience being in-game and out of game based. I assume the campaign will contribute as well with how big that it’s suppose to be. But the fact that this game is suppose to have an estimated 10 year lifespan makes me question how lengthy the system will be.

Campaign will contribued to get XP maybe if you complete all Campaign + secondary mission you get a lot of xp

There’s no loot box system in Infinite, 343 have said this multiple times.

That seems a tad too far in my opinion. Halo 5 made a mistake of having such a high XP threshold for ranks, low rewards, and above all making it so that the only way to gain xp is through number of hours played with almost 0 effect with what you do or how well you play during those hours. There is also the bottleneck issue where WZFF pays out 5x more xp than arena for its time so we have 152s who grinded playing only WZFF for 6 months, and champion rank arena players with years of playing under there belts just to barely make it 10% of the way.
That’s obviously a bad design, however MCC and reach showed some promise by introducing challenges, and I think adding campaign to XP is also a good idea. If we make the XP fun to gain and offer a variety of ways to get there then they can start actually start having people gain these ranks out of pure love of the game like they expected with Halo 5. Getting rid of XP and respective ranks would be a bit sad in my opinion as thats just removing another feature as well as interact with the game and to express/distinguish yourself.
Im just happy they said it will be like halo reach, id rather have actual ranks than just meaningless numbers.
There was just something so special about meeting high rank players in mp, kind of exciting

Naw I think they have failed to adopt any sort of RPG features like this to go along with the open world, my guess it that you might pick up xp from campaign to unlock things in MP, but for a campaign player like myself that doesnt help much.
I’m sure the campaign will give XP. Maybe you get XP for missions completed, side missions completed, Banished patrols destroyed, bases captured, etc.
I feel like you should get something out of everything. There should be a rank for campaign, multiplayer, custom games, even forge! I feel like a rank for even the recreational play would be cool for bragging rights. That will still keep multiplayer ranks competitive and you can see how much custom games somebody plays I don’t know. Mcc does it where you can do challenges in “any game mode” so I don’t know how you can ha rank all connected and not cheat by boosting and it not really representing your skill at the game.
