Why can I only ever find games on expanded no matter what time or day and it takes 15 mins or more to even find that and they are laggier than the original halo 2…
Keep in mind the population is not what it used to be so finding matches isn’t always going to be fast. Depending on the time of day, it could take 10 seconds or 10 minutes to find a match. Additionally, Expanded allows you to be connected with players who have bad connections. That along with your location are two reasons why Expanded won’t necessarily give you good match quality.
10 seconds has never happened, in the last 18 months the quickest I’ve gotten a game is about 6 minutes… the longest is just 7 or 8 time outs and that’s exclusive to expanded… nearly impossible on balanced
Might be partly down to the server issues. A lot of people are most likely finding the game in it’s current state stressful so probably waiting on 343i to fix them, which might help explain low population because in it’s current state it’s not very playable, I’ve been playing for 5 days with this problem, I’m considering taking a break till it sorts itself out.
Also population is usually low in some playlists most days plus the constant crashes, glitches might be putting people off too. I’ve had various long to short load times too. Plus noticing the website seems to falling apart too lately since keeps breaking the forums. Basically it’s current state I highly recommend avoiding ranked till the servers are fixed while social modes probably fine if mind the rubber-banding.
Yeah everytime I join someone’s invite it crashes, if I leave the intermission to count down it crashes. I only play social since playing ranked solo is an exercise in anger management but I’m sick of playing on Original Xbox Live connections…
So Balanced now can not find a game I left it searching for an hour and expanded is unplayable cant even pick up weapons…
I had to move to expanded to get a game in any acceptable timescale, though my experience isn’t quite as bad as yours.

i played for about 5hrs last night on FF without any major issues, average search time 2min on balanced.
