Ever since the matchmaking preferences came out I’ve been using the “Expanded” setting in Warzone. I’ve played a lot since then, maybe 50 or more games (if someone wants to count be my guest) and have played exactly 0 JiP games. Is this just extreme luck or is this happening for everyone using “Expanded?”
I’ve switched to focused and been getting JIP’d into a lot more games (social). Might be you have a point? Who knows, but I do pair with similar players in Arena at least which is more fun
You may be right OP. I know for sure focused=about 50% JIP.
Still haven’t JiP with Expanded. Just played my first game using Focused, joined in progress. This has got to be a real thing. My sample size is getting pretty huge.
I wish JIP existed for all modes, both social and ranked. Have the loss not count and you get a hefty REQ point and/or REQ pack bonus when staying in the game (does not work when joining someone directly i.e. friends and recent players).

Ah, well, there you go, you can get jip in any mode. I was getting alot more jip in focused vs. before the update.

Expanded includes the entire population though, I doubt it will ever get to that. I actually was wondering the same thing OP. I have been using expanded and gotten 0 JiP games. I think youre on to something

JiP?
With expanded is higher the probability to get a valid match because parameters are way more loosened.
With focused instead you get an high number of JIP matches because there are less valid matches available for you taking into account factors like:
- Your region or ping - Your skill (everybody has forget that even social playlists have hidden ranks)Where JiP is available and valid matches are a few is high the probability to enter an already started game.

That is just luck. JIP is worse than ever for me

I’ve been using Balanced and get JIP games at least 50% of the time.
I switched to focused but I’m getting more jip but closer games and fewer farmers…

No it doesn’t include he whole population, it’s just looser skill-based matching. If it included the whole population it would be a disaster and skilled people would dominate excessively, which has not been the case.
Thanks for sharing your experience with no JiP, I think it’s fair to conclude that Expanded = Extremely Low JiP Rate (if not Zero).

I’m guessing you aren’t using Expanded, because that is drastically different from what I and others have experienced.
I use expanded and get all fresh games every time
It finally happened. I got put in a game in progress using Expanded (although it was just seconds after everyone dropped out of pelicans). For me, it’s gotta be way less than 1% JiP.

I use Focused but if I notice a lot are JiP I will try Expanded search instead, thanks.
I use expanded and I have been in JIP games. It might just be luck, because 20% of my games are JIP.
