Expanded Firefight Concept

So this is a recent shower thought on how to expand and improve upon Halo 5’s firefight gamemode. Put simply: Take the “Warzone” out of “Warzone Firefight”. By that I mean rehash firefight as a customizable gamemode. Think about it: being able to use forged maps for firefight based on classic maps from ODST and Reach. Being able to set enemy spawn and difficulty. Being able to set the amount of players in the game. Heck, we could even step it up even further by adding friend/foe tags to the AI. Prometheans, Covenant, and Spartans could all take part in an epic three-way war! Or Spartans could even team up with friendly Elites to aid in a simulated civil war!

Halo 5 certainly has the tools for it: AI, custom games, arena, forge. If we mashed them together, it could revolutionize firefight and Halo itself (though technically Reach did something similar with enemy settings). All that’s really needed is the base options, and the community could take it from there. Heck, several playlists could probably be made from just the first two weeks of community input.

This is something I’m hoping for in Halo 6

For Halo 6, they should return firefight to its survival roots. Reqs and Loadouts are fine, but they need to go back to the survival element.

If they want to keep the Halo 5 version, just rebrand it Warzone Escalation. It works as a PvE challenge mode, but it doesn’t really do much as a survival mode with depth.

Not gonna lie, after reading this, I almost had an -Yoink!-.
THAT is one of the greatest ideas I have ever heard, and me being a “forger” myself who likes to customize and build things, I would love an option like this. Not only would it bring back the old Firefight, but with all the new elements that could be added in…
Well, lets just say that its going to be one hell of a lot of fun.

Have elites and Spartans against a bunch of the flood.

There really isn’t anything wrong with warzone firefight. Sure the Reach firefight was awesome and the amount of customization you could do was outstanding. with that being said I don’t see why they can’t just add some options for the version we have. adjustable party size from single player up to eight players, enemy preferences between Covie and prometheans, difficulty level (award less rp/xp for lower difficulty) stuff like that.

At this point, 343 should not being focusing on rehashing/fixing Halo 5, instead focus more on the future. I would love many key features to be included in Halo 5 but it simply is too late. I don’t want precious man hours/money wasted on expanding Halo 5’s content, rather them putting that effort into i.e. Halo 6. If there is anything I could add this late into the game, it would be a veto system.

This would be nice but 343 would not invest time into changing firefight. I guess we were lucky to even get it added to Halo 5.

sound pretty cool, hopefully will come true
