EXP Progression Rework

This is just a rough-as-guts idea on what I’d like to see in a Progressive EXP Ranking system in the next title.

I’ll add to it and shape it out as more ideas come in (if they do). But like I said, it’s incredibly bare at the moment and I don’t quite have the time to expand on it until tomorrow.

Progressive Ranking System (EXP):
-Based on Halo 4’s individual scoring implementation
-Based on Halo Reach’s longevity
-Based on Halo 3/Reach’s military grades
-Uses Gears of War’s Consecutive Game Bonus

Outcome of the system is to give EXP to players equivalent to their individual scores from a match. Whatever your score is at the end of the match becomes your EXP gained. If you win, your EXP gained is multiplied by X%. If you lose you do not get the X% bonus.

If you do not leave the playlist, you get an EXP increase of 100 EXP every 2 games up to a maximum of 1000 EXP or 20 games.

If you do not leave the lobby, you get a 100 EXP increase every game up to a maximum of 1000 EXP or 10 games.

If you join a game in progress and do not quit, you get an extra 10% of your EXP gained added to your total EXP. If you quit a game you joined in progress the standard quit penalty applies.

Quitting any game will result in you not getting any kind of match bonus, it resets your consecutive match bonus and you also lose whatever score you had when you quit off of your current total EXP.

Every playlist has its own EXP counter which is shown on your player card when in that playlist. All EXP is pooled into a Global Ranking akin to Halo 3 and Reach.

**Note: X is used because I could not think of a set numeric value and decided to leave it to discussion. All numeric values are up for discussion and are only used as a visual guide.

This is just a general outline/concept of the system I’d like to replace Halo 4’s SR rankings. To me, Halo 4’s system is way too short, and even though I myself haven’t hit 130, I know a fair chunk of players who hit it only a few months after release.

Also, this is just about the gaining or loss of EXP. Not what it unlocks outside of ranks.

Sounds like a good idea to me.

I’d rather you get no EXP for losing, whether you play well or not. It’s really the only way to force people to want to win. And of course if we talk about objective, if someone gets a ton of kills, no captures, no returns, no ball time, whatever, then they actually got carried.

People want EXP for their performance mostly because those people play objective games just because there is no kill limit and they can get a bunch of kills. Those same people would get map about getting no EXP for “dominating” because their team lost. Even though they never went near the objective.

You have to make people want to win. No prizes for second place.

I perfer Halo 3’s EXP System, i rather not get any exp if i lose. If i lose a match, i dont deserve exp. it should be this way cause it will give players a bigger drive to win.

Or just encourage players to AFK or rubberband when they see the game going south.
