this system is exactly why i was worried when they announced it would be free to play, i would of rather it being paid like normal where we could of got a progression system like in Reach

I agree, I played for a couple hours and I’m rank two. It’s especially bad when you consider that if you don’t buy the $10 battle pass, there’s like 5-6 armor pieces that you can get from the free battle pass? So it would take a ton of time to grind to tier 100, and even if you did, you wouldn’t get very many things. Not great

Yes, 200hrs (obviously this isn’t a reliable number because it is only based on my last 3 hrs of play) is not a small commitment. I certainly won’t max all the levels before the next pass drops, but the good news is that I’ll have the choice to keep working on the last remaining levels, or switch to the new pass. It really depends on what I prefer to unlock.
Also, for what it is worth, I’m not paying any attention to the challenges. I’m just playing what I like, how I like. I get that people are excited about unlocking everything, but it seems like the focus is slightly misplaced.
Having said all that, I’m not saying the system is perfect and nobody here has valid complaints. Just saying a loot of folks appear to be blowing things a bit out of proportion.

Most free-to-play games these days seem to have this progression slowness, and it’s not a good thing. Some of us may have time to play a few hours 3-5 days a week, if that, and if you gain 1 level per day, that’s a long time to unlock a single color palette, lmao
I can agree with that. The game just released and we’re already trying to max out. Here’s to hoping for a better system that everyone can be happy with.

It has to be the biggest problem with the game so far. 9 hours and barely got to tier 3. Come on… they need to do something about this. It’s so slow and ridiculous
LMAO!!! I need 15 Commando kills and apparently shooting a guy while he falls off of the map doesn’t count even though it shows up as Commando kill in the feed!
Even H5 was better than this crap.

100% agree. Doesn’t feel good and doesn’t encourage me to play for rewards really. Given the free tier of battle pass contains just a bunch of challenge swaps with a little cosmetic thrown in every handful of tiers and then how slow progress is on top of that. I have no desire to play to grind at all. I’ll play if my friends are playing and that’s probably it. We really should earn XP for each match and medal we earn based on performance.

I agree, it’s way too slow. I hope 343 adds the ability to earn experience from kills, medals etc.

Guys I think it’s just glitched. I’ve noticed alot of my challenges aren’t unlocking upon completion. So I think that’s why it’s not moving fast enough. I bet once they fix that people’s will progress faster
Noticed the same thing but weekly challenges seem to be giving more XP if you complete many of them. I saw legendary ones gives you like 350XP so it’ll be faster when you get to them!
I thought only me who feel the exp progress is so slow…but I like Halo Infinite

But you can buy boosters 
I miss a overal XP rank from soldier to General 4 star too.

Yeah, there’s a pretty intense soft cap to the amount of XP you can earn through the daily challenges. It would basically take I’ve been tracking the amount of XP I gain from the dailies and from challenge 1-12 you can earl 1500 xp, then it changes from complete matches to win matches, which is where the soft cap comes in. It shifts the dailies goals from being a time commitment to being a skill barrier.
Game devs have lost their souls. They have no respect for players anymore.

Considering the average adult gamer, assuming they have other responsibilities, only spends 5-6 hours a week on gaming, the 8 hours a week expectation is still unachievable.

agreed, I played at least 2 hours to go up 1 level only. I believe that it is possible to increase the XP that we gain from victories a little bit, I currently have 7 hours of gameplay and I am at level 3, rank Platinum 1. Please adjust this.
