EXP earning is way too slow

I agree. 343 really needs to at least add permatch xp. Its actually insane how I’ve been playing since 2pm, its now 9pm and I’ve only leveled up 3 levels. That’s rough.

I love the hell out of this game so far though.

343i sure weren’t kidding about the 10 year plan. I feel as though that’s how long it will take to finish the Season 1 at this rate.

They really need to add in credits for finishing matches becuase no one who has real world comitments is going to be cable to grind through this pass

Most people have noted about 3ish hours for one level. Do the math, to complete the battlepass is roughly 300ish hours (360 for ones that go to 120.)

Most people put 300 hours into the lifetime of a game. With 3-4 passes per year, most people will not be able to unlock a lot of the content considering it’d take 900-1200 hours to sink into a game, which is an insane amount for most people.

I literally don’t even want to play right now. This progression just leaves such a bad taste in my mouth. Doesn’t help that your customization gets shown off for 15 seconds at both the start and end of a match.

sucks bud too bad everyone let them get a pass on it because theyre were in a honeymoon phase and also how else would they get their money?

To add insult to injury I got dropped in very early in a strongholds match. Played well over 3 rounds and it didn’t give me credit for it because I didn’t start right at the beginning.

Man. This is a really rough grind.

Fully agree. I would rather the leveling have scaling or be lower. Some battle passes have a prestige tier which give the same cosmetic however a different spin on it.

Agreed. All the challenges need to be doubled or tripled in yield or they need to add a lot more “per match” challenges. Not having performance XP has made this the biggest slog ever.

It took me 5 BTB games just to get to get to rank 1. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I also thought it was slow, I know it was the intention for the pass but it was too much. What relieves me is knowing that the EXP system per game is coming soon. Let’s wait

This wording is what scares me though. To me it sounds like they’re just adding a player level type progression system alongside the existing battle pass progression system. So be careful what you believe right now, especially since we are currently being given a mess of a game.

How can you play for fun when the only way to “progress” in this game’s base model is to do things that are not conventionally fun.
This is a two way street, people like Halo because of what has always been in the games, and 343 are ripping that away from us.

I agree with this it is too slow and needs more ways to gain XP.
Playing a game of Odball I had the skull for the first 60ish points and I began to feel like I was missing out on my weekly quest of 5 BR kills.
With limited playtime it could become quiet the grind of quests to unlock anything.

I am really concerned about being able to unlock the challenge to get the Sigil visor in just one week. People have jobs, and a lot of these Weekly challenges (all 20 need to be completed) are insanely specific.

Yeah it’s rough. I’ve been playing since it released and I’m not even at level 4 yet… Match XP needs to return

Yeah, the weekly rewards seem like the truly impossible things to get for me. I’m not good enough to get 10 CTFs or whatever. It’s also like, how is it even possible to get 15 shade turret kills? I would imagine I’d go my ENTIRE CAREER never getting 15 of those and now I’m being forced into trying to jump in those to finish the weeklies. Or wraith kills. I’ve yet to even see a wraith in a game.

I just reached rank 2, and that was quite the chore. So much so I have to put it down for now. But this got me thinking just now:

Imagine being a new player and having the worst time trying to achieve some of these challenges, made even worse when many of these challenges are map specific (vehicle and weapon spawns exclusive to the map). There are tons of things wrong with this.

This doesn’t help new players or veterans become greater players. This doesn’t help you get a handle on the game mechanics. This does nothing for the $10 you spent on the battle pass. What it does do, though, is give you a chore list to complete.

To me and many others, videogames are a pastime; an escape from the real life daily monotony. Playing a game to do chores is monotony. Why would I want to continue playing if all I’m doing is completing a chore list.

No buyer’s remorse just yet. I do want to see what the future holds in terms of the ‘additional career progression system’. Just kinda wish that Spartan Academy Commander, Laurette Agryna, didn’t pass her chores to us.

100% agree. I didn’t like it in the flights, I don’t like it now. PLEASE change the progression system in the full game 343.
