Agreed, Overall was pretty happy with the multiplayer but the progression is way too slow especially when you get weekly challenges that are very hard to complete or takes quite a while to complete. For example, killing 10 people with gravity hammer in PVP games. I think its best to also reward progression through game objectives (whether its getting kills for slayers or holding the odd ball) which also give incentive for players to actually win the game and not just trying to complete the objectives.
Just finished all weekly challenges. Spent 17 hours playing to do it. I’m only lvl 11 and the Xbox achievement for fully accomplish the weekly has a 0,6% ratio. Imo something must be done asap. Exp gain is slow and so painfull. I don’t get the point of having specific challenges in a random basis game. Almost all the challenges are luck related, player skill is not rewarded at all, you can win the match with a 40/0 and get just 50xp (5% of a level).
Just passed the 9 hour mark on this game. Just hit level 3 on the battle pass. I’m not purchasing it until it is able to be completed in a realistic amount of time. As it stands it takes 2000 matches to complete. I don’t have that time, most people don’t. Not a dime from me till this is changed. 
Exp is normally based on the overall progression of the match /game. How are we supposed to rank up or make any progress with just 50 point exp per match i mean was my effort worth that much at the end of every match and what’s up with the lame challenges. i feel like they where going for a cod approach but missed the mark completely. i did get the normal battle pass i hope they give us more than what we have seen so far.
343, I will tell you right now. If you will make xp based on kills, medals, and wins, then you will have me as a consistent player for years. Earning xp through challenges is frustrating because it forces players to change from doing their best to try to win a game to instead becoming selfish and sacrificing team strategy for individual external achievement. Giving xp based on merit rewards players for playing well within the game type and also drives them to want to play better. External challenges ruin it for me. So many games lost because random people are not focusing on the objective.
I’m not particularly good at Halo but the thought of xp being based on merit excites me. I hope y’all read this.
Need to be at LEAST doubled. Stuff’s crazy.

Getting rid of the challenges is the only way to ensure players do their best in games. Needs to go.

Challenges should be situational, for each mode you have it’s challenge, when you play a CTF, it should give you CTF challenges like “bring back the flag to base, kill the flag carrier, etc”, there’s already these challenges, the challenge system is just not like it should.
There should be general challenges too like “Kill X players, Kill with melee”, that would show everywhere.
Imagine if they released it last year, I don’t even want to imagine that

Yeah, match win xp, performance xp, challenge xp.
Yeah wins/medals/kills/objective. I can’t see a use for external challenges though. Especially if they require a player to change what they would normally do in a game. (Camping a certain weapon/only using a certain weapon) Things like that only kill teamwork and strategy.
Nope. They didn’t. Get rid of challenges and make it based on merit.
Yes, challenges should be objective focused, kills are ok too.
I just finished the weekly challenges, and it was a grind. I wasn’t having fun by the end, I was logging into matches to get it over with. I have a lot of free time to game, but I don’t think I’ll be completing all the weekly challenges going forward. if they’re all like this.
Yeah, we don’t play games to feel like doing chores
