So I know the news about this game is brand new, and the information we know about the details is very limited, but I am wondering how 343 will deal with ranks that have already been accrued in Halo 3. Will those ranks carry over? or will everyone be given a clean slate across all of the Halo games?
It doesn’t sound likely. They’re currently creating a new ranking system that will please fans of the Halo 2 ranking system.
I don’t see that, the original Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4 ranks all working alongside each other.

So a global rank for all the games? Not each matchmaking service for each game operating separately?
