Now, I don’t usually play Big Team Infinity, Since Its first appearance I’ve never been a big fan of it… halo Never felt fit for large open-spaced maps with large clusters of players… It felt more like an uncoordinated mess than a traditional Halo mode… And the Large plains that encourage camping type gameplay didn’t exactly help the cause…
And what 2 Maps have ALL of this and a bag of chips?
The Holy -Yoink- themselves Exile and Settler!
Im not kidding, These maps are camp Haven
(heh? get it?.. ahh cmon you know its funny)
With:
Settler having The almighty “hill” that if a team controls just about mean instant victory and picking of enemies from across the map. You Shouldn’t Be able to kill of multiple enemies while standing in 1 spot, and that’s more or less all that happends on this map, that and DMR or LR camping back and forth…
and Exile, which is Full of power weapons, an abundance of Ghosts, tanks, and the God forsaken banshee, It Feels nearly Impossible not to get wiped out at random without hugging the walls… granted Running in the open doesn’t guaranty your death as much as settler, It still leads to a lot of small clustered battles all spread out over the map… you know? instead of just 1 large coordinated battle over 1 area?
If 343 is encouraging of This kind of Camping, Vehicle hogging, rush by yourself into the open kind of gameplay, then I don’t see a bright future for Big Team Slayer…
granted, I’ve Never like Big Team To beginner with, I feel these maps take all the faults of this mode and multiply it by 1000… at least compared To Maps like longbow and vortex, which don’t have Nearly as bad an issue as this…
But That’s my opinion, I’m not posing it as Fact… this is just my interpretation based on experience.
While I do agree that both suck for Slayer, they’re entirely different maps for CTF and play quite nice. I honestly think Ragnorok plays worse (but this is coming from a guy who prefers CQC)

Exile is average on objective based modes, ill give it that… but settler is terrible PERIOD.
Personal preference really. Exile for me is one of my favorite maps to play on and I hate BTB IS. Whereas Settler is yet another failed variation of Blood Gulch. Its honestly no different to Ragnarok tbh, hate them both.
I like Settler, the no-mans-land that the hill turns into gets pretty wild and intense. I don’t mind exile for KoH, and vortex has turned into the mess that exile was at launch, TOO MANY VEHICLES, seriously, we don’t need that many hogs and ghosts, 2 mantis’ and a banshee.
Settler is a terrible map in any gametype. It’s the hill that breaks it–if they made the hill less powerful (or got rid of it all together), it may be fun.
Exile is one of the many large maps in Halo 4 that doesn’t realize it’s too cramped for all of its vehicles and power weapons. It works great in non-big-team gametypes. Halo 4 has no shortage of large, big-team-friendly maps, but like Exile, there isn’t enough room for them to maneuver without being EMP’d or blown up by Plasma Grenades.
I’m not a big fan of settler and meltdown. Ragnarok also annoys me because there is not a lot of cover and if you control the middle you control the entire map.

It’s a lot easier to take back the center hill in Ragnarok than in Settler. Another difference is that the hill in Settler gives you a view and control of the entire map, but the hill in Ragnarok just helps you to control the rest of the map. Controlling the hill doesn’t grant immediate domination. That’s why it’s one of my favorites.

People actually take the center hill in Ragnarok? I thought people who went on that hill were mantis and sniper bait O_o … Theres an actual purpose?
> Believe it or not, but Settler would actually be an amazing map with Halo’s original style of Multiplayer…

I gotta disagree with ya there mate… there still would be camping on this map… even in legendary slayer…

No matter how hard you cut something down, there’s going to be camping… It’s a legit strategy in Halo. The only campy place in Settler is the tunnel with the Shotgun, and part of Classic gameplay is having to fight for the power-weapons that spawn on the map, not it being handed to you like candy.
Settler’s most prominent problem is the excessive amounts DMR-Spamming and Jetpack users, otherwise it’s another Blood Gulch style-map.
Almost all Big Team maps play like that. In fact the whole playlist revolves around camping now, which is a good thing considering most of the camokids/campers only play BTB and don’t ruin other playlists for the rest of the population.

What im Saying is, even If you cut down on everything, It will still come down to the guys with the BR’s and DMR’s controlling the Hill while the other team can barely move from spawn… The problem is not with the loadouts, its with the map design itself.
