Everyone seems to have wanted the Didact’s armor in Halo 4. And since 343 is adding the Prefect armor, it’s not out of the question that the Didact’s armor can be made available in Halo 5. It could be like Halo 3’s Recon armor, in which you had to complete Vidmaster challenges to unlock it, making it a true prize to unlock.
For those who don’t know: Vidmaster challenges were 7 achievements you had to get: 4 in Halo 3 and 3 in Halo ODST. Earning all of the achievements would get you Halo 3’s Recon armor. They weren’t easy.
EDIT: The armor would be NON-CANONICAL and PURELY COSMETIC.
I’d love to see how the UNSC reverse engineers anti-grav pieces.
It’d be a cool armor, but canonically unlikely. Due to technology and probably the lack of having the armor to work on making Mjolnir-compatible copies from.

Well, the UNSC reverse-engineered the Prefect armor for MJOLNIR, so they’re one step closer to understanding Foreruuner armor tech.

The Ur-Didact has a Class 18 Combat Skin, MJOLNIR Mark V and VI are equivalent to a Class 2 Combat Skin

Like I said, it would just be cosmetic. If canon is a problem, then it could just be MJOLNIR armor that is visually similar.

Doesn’t really look like it to me, but if you say so.
To get the full feel of the Didact’s armor, you’ll have to ace the floating parts.
That is where it doesn’t cleanly cross canon. Floating parts aren’t very efficient or practical for Spartans at this point, nor have Humanity really gotten a good grasp of anti-grav tech like that.
A visually similar armor perhaps, but you won’t get the Didact’s armor.

Not to be rude, but who the Yoink! cares? I don’t understand why people have to be so unbearably pedantic with canon. Since when has Halo multiplayer been required to be so faithful to the storyline? People were perfectly happy with playable Elites and no POD in all the past Halo iterations.

Why does canon matter so much in multiplayer? It’d just be a cool armor that players would strive to achieve.
Because the armor is grounded in canon… and its always been? Would you like us running around in Medieval Knight Armor? It has to have reference in canon or else things just get out of hand.
Even moreso with 343i’s approach.
If they walked around with floating parts that means technological breakthroughs for the UNSC. You’ve seen how the last few games have had canonical descriptions of the armor. This wouldn’t change.
And btw, yes. There are plenty of people who would like multiplayer to stay canonically grounded. The multiplayer has been our source of armor canonocity and the location of several testing sites and variants for a few years now.
Canonically I don’t think we should worry. I mean, we got the FOTUS unicorn armor, and the entire in-game description of that is a joke so they can throw in some Forerunner armor pieces for the fans.

The FOTUS armor’s description says that it was made for people to get coffee in Seattle or something like that. Canonical description?
Spartans have very interesting lives.
And Seattle is probably a megacity in 2557… its entirely possible they have some Spartans running around like that for special occasions. Parades, moral boosts, things to show the Spartans in good lights.
And the armor doesn’ t interfere with canon. Its impractical… but could be used.
As for true Didact’s armor (yes, I am aware its reverse engineered/mjolnir adapted), they would be using technology they don’t have to mimic the anti-grav floating parts. The description and whatever is fine, but it is at the moment basically impossible for the UNSC to efficiently use anti-grav on that scale. Getting the Didact’s armor to reverse engineer is another concern.
