I still can’t get over the rather ridiculous amount of space Halo 5 takes up on my Xbox HardDrive. That’s 61GB for the game itself, WITHOUT the update (WZFF, new skins and whatnot) and I can’t help but feel anxious about how big this next update is going to be, because I am not allowing H5 to take up any more space on my HDD than it already has. I believe it has something to do with how they compress the files (skins, maps, items) - or rather don’t - but regardless, this is an issue that needs to be solved. Otherwise, I feel like I’m going to be forced to uninstall the game as I’ve only 9GB left on my Xbox. Which sucks, because there’s quite an audience for H5 right now with a lot of people playing it (as opposed to say, MCC) which leads me to less waiting in the lobby and more actual playing.
Fix this, 343. It’s an issue that’s been going on long enough.
I have the disc, I believe it takes up less space. Not sure why I need all of the forge stuff, I believe that is taking alot of space. Which they let you choose critical vs non critical.

Then you could not play any forge maps.

Yes. Slayer has Forge maps. Your game cannot load an object onto the map without knowing about it. I.E. If there was a giant pig on the map, and you were using old forge object data from release, your game would crash because it would not know of a giant piggy.
Also a slayer map can have scripting, several scripting bugs were fixed semi-recently, if you weren’t updated, you would see objects moved by scripting moving incorrectly or you would just crash.

Thanks. Appreciate the explanation.
Forge is pretty much baked into everything in Halo 5, there isn’t much that it doesn’t touch in some way. Don’t know the specifics of it, but that’s why sometimes multiplayer things would break when fixing forge or forge things would break when touch other parts of the game.

Yeah, true.
