Yo what’s happening, this is basically my first forum post ever and i’ll get right to it.
Here’s the Story.
When Halo 3 was at it’s peak I was one of those kids who used to play the game religiously and I thought i was pretty good at it, reaching the rank of General Grade 2, Legit high skill of 50 in Lone Wolves and Team Doubles bla bla bla.
After a few years off gaming (properly ~~ I have decided to jump back into what I love to do, which is Halo matchmaking. I Played Reach on 360 which was pretty fun however I was very disappointing with 4, something about it just didn’t flow right with me.
Anyway, the point of this post is this.
Will I struggle to adapt to Halo 5 and be a complete noob or will I be able to jump back into things and rip headz like it is 08/09 all over again?
I’m yet to play the game I have only looked at people playing via Youtube, It looks like a whole different world but still looks like a very decent game.
Stoked to get back into things suck or not, cheeeeers!
The aiming is different, it may take days or months to get adjusted to it. Also welcome and congrats on your first post! You may find many here to have the same halo experience as yourself.
Might be difficult, but you won’t know if you won’t try.
Actually you’ll probably hate this game. Most ‘veteran’ players hate this game. They say “its not halo”.

Well, that’s good. Hopefully you will enjoy the game.
If your familiar with COD then adapting to Halo 5 should be a piece of cake because it doesn’t play so much like Halo no more…

Funny you should say that because I owned a PS4 which I have just sold to get an Xbox one and I played core like I was playing Halo (Jumping around a lot etc…
I used to do pretty good but get wrecked on Hardcore…
I binged played Halo all my life when I was a kid and I used to MVP frequently online and beat my friends 9/10 times in every custom game. Now in 5 half the time I’m that guy on the bottom of the scoreboard.
My friends who played COD however make me look like the noob ultra, I lose custom games and cant keep up online any more.

Homestly to me the game is a mixture of old and new and in my opinion this game is really enjoyable and this is the most fun halo game since 3 to me i didn’t really like reach.A quick tip is to open bronze packs until you get all commons and then silvers until you get all the rare items you’ll know when your done with them when you get req points back. Also play alot of warzone assault and welcome back spartan.

Gracias, Amigo!
If I know myself i’ll just want to jump straight into the deep end. Arena? isn’t it? haha.
Thanks for the tips man.
Don’t worry about it. Games Magnesium changes and guns change since you were good at Halo 3 which means you were good with projection bullets not the hit scan. Also since Halo 5 you can aim all weapons now which makes them useful in the battle field.

Another great tip to warm up is to play infection it also gives you 1000 req points for a 10 min game and also if you want if you want put the vertical and horizontal speed to 1.5 speed and the acceleration to 2 and both the deadzones to 3% it feels like the classic halo aiming imo.
It is different and takes a bit of getting used to but the core play style still exists. The biggest tip I can give is to really try and learn how to use the new abilities effectively. Things like sprint, spartan charge, ground pound, smart scope, all have uses and a lot of players seem to over use them or neglect them in favor of a classic play style. Which is fine, if that’s what you want to do, but using these tools effectively will improve your game.
You should be fine, OP. My biggest and best tip?
Learn your new abilities, and don’t play it like previous Halo titles.
