IMO, Halo doesn’t have to evolve, IT HAS TO BE BROUGHT TO PERFECTION…
Every Halo game had its flaws, and in my opinion, HaloReach was the game were BUNGIE tried to bring brand new aspects into the game… but it didnt worked out so well…
People complained (and are still complaining) about AAs, bloom, FF, etc. …
And this is were Halo4 should get its “direction” from:
343i should look at ALL the things the community liked and disliked, in order to keep the things that worked and get rid of the things that sucked…
Halo doesnt need new core mechanics, the mechanics that already there have to be brought to perfection…

Most people don’t realise that halo 1, halo 2, and halo 3 all had the same core game mechanics but they all innovated the halo series and all of fps itself not to mention they were all amazing games, so that means halo 4 can be fresh, new, and innovative without destroying halo as we know it and possibly (or most likely) being a horrible game

My point being, define them. Give them context. What does 343i going for ‘perfection’ as opposed to ‘evolution’ actually mean? Because as I see it, any change 343 decides to implement could be describe as either. What’s the difference?

Because you are just using terms to apply to changes which you may or may not like.
But beside that, no Halo is not perfect. You are being ridiculous by even suggesting that, even in terms of Halo, there is no perfect Halo game. It will never be perfect and will always need to evolve.
Did people think that H2 was perfect? or that H3 was WHEN they were playing it? It is only when Reach came with some poor design decisions that people’s eyes were coloured with nostalgia. I suggest you get yours checked.
