If halo 4 is going to have equipment, obviously it is going to need to be different from halo 3. So I ask you the people, what new equipment would you like to see, and how would you like the current equipement to change? Here’s what I want:
The campain auto-turret now balanced for multiplayer.
The ability to stick trip mines to vehicles and walls like in the halo 3 beta
Jet Pack as equipment could be cool. Give it only a certain amount of “fuel” so that it can only be used for a limited time (5 or 10 seconds in total, for example), and then its gone. Would make for a great way to quickly escape a situation if you don’t have a grav lift.
Yeah, jetpack is the only one I see that would fit for halo 4 from reach. What I liked about the equipment was the “offensive tactics” that they could be used for. Bounce a power drainer around the corner and one shot the entire enemy team, place a mine in a usual vehicle trail, or chuck a flare at someone. When bungie said in their vidoc for the reach beta, that AAs are your secret weapon in your pocket, I would disagree. AAs consisted of movement and defensive abilities, while equipment covered defensive, movement AND offensive.
What about the hologram? That would make a pretty great equipment. Like you set it up, and it generates holograms of whoever set it up, and does that until it is destroyed. It can also make the holograms hold any weapons, and run in any direction. It dos this completely randomly.

The Halo 3 Beta Trip mine. Oh how I miss you.
I think have everything from the Halo 3 Equipment range and Halo REACH AA, to be tweaked for Halo 4 Equipment.
Also by default, Spartans should have Sprint and Elites have Evade, and this works the same as it currently does in REACH, Infinty use but power drians when in use. Any Equipment that is picked up in the game is an addition to this. But is one use only. Or once the power is drained is discarded, and will respawn.
I think that there should be a deploy able anti-vehicle turrets like the auto-turrets in the firefight section of the package you know and also an ODST designation device that would drop in ODST AIs to help your team but take out armor abilitys and bring back equipment.
I like the idea of an auto-turret however its not good for Halo. Halo needs more skill like it had before, auto turrets get you free kills.
I want pretty much everything from the old equipment selection and more. Just upgrade the system a bit(make it more strategic, mobile and map alterable(more ways of countering things, as the OP said put mines on vehicles and also maybe put a bubble shield on a vehicle, use a drop able gravity lift to get in to more place, stuff like this and more)) and it will be amazing.

Some creativity would be nice, but I feel AA’s completely destroyed Halo. Equipment (like that in Halo 3 where it only affects the environment, not the player’s abilities) is the furthest it should be taken. Halo is built on an arcade style simplicity that performs best when it adheres to those principles.
