This is the first video in my new planned “Evolution of…” series of videos relating to the weapons in the Halo franchise. There are a lot of weapons to choose from, but I decided to start it off with the most iconic weapon of them all, the Assault Rifle.Beginning from Halo Combat Evolved (2001) all the way to the current Halo 5: Guardians (2015), there have been many weapons that have come and gone, and many of them have gone through some drastic transformations.
Which Assault Rifle is your favorite? Is it the classic Halo Combat Evolved Assault Rifle, or the newest smart-link enabled Halo 5 Assault Rifle? Which weapon would you like to see next?

If only they had transferred over the forum posts of Bungie.Net! I’ll get there eventually. I barely started using the Halo Waypoint forums. But now that Halo is back, I love the response and feedback from the community again!
CE: 60 rounds, good overall damage with 60 rounds in the magazine, pretty good. - Halo 2: Disappeared off the face of the Earth due to Bungie’s new introduction to the Duel-Wield system. - Halo 3: Not the best AR variant, but could have been better IMO, but if you use short controlled bursts it was a good weapon. - Halo Reach: What the hell happened to this awesome gun?! - Halo 4: Awwww yeah, now THIS is the AR I’m talking about. - Halo 5: Halo 4 step-up with 4 extra rounds in the magazine AND variants for Warzone game-types…now that’s what I like to see. - Halo 6: ???Overall I like the Assault Rifle, it can be a nightmare and a half if your good with it.
