Dear 343i Management:
It would be most appreciated if you would consider adding the requirement to the Forum Rules, that when it comes to someone making a claim about Halo 4, evidence must be linked to their forum post to support any claim made. Of course, the new rule should be applied to Halo Reach too but I do not call for its being applied to older Halo games.
Issue:
There are hundreds, if not thousands of threads on these forums in which the Original Poster makes a claim about some facit of the Halo 4 game and/or experience they claim to have had while playing it. Time again, I go and actually look at the statistics page of the original poster and often in addition, those of the people who reply and seem to lend support to the original posters claim. On other occasions, where necessary, I go to the Carnage Reports. What I have found, which is not acceptable at all, is that most often the claims made in the original post are either 100 percent false, or are at a minimum, over exaggerated or unverifiable due to no evidence being available.
In my view, the multitude of original posts that make false claims or partially false claims and, then have many people respond to them supporting the claim, somehow turning a false claim into fact simply by the vast number of supportive replies, has been turning something which is not true into a truth! This is having a very detrimental affect upon the Halo 4 and might have lead you, 343i, making decisions to change certain aspects of Halo 4 which actually did not need changing due to the false claims made.
Solution/new rule:
My proposal is that if a claim is made about something that happens game after game, then a minimum of three video links from their File Share, which directly support their claim, must be linked in the body of their forum post. Whether it is the original forum topic or a post making any statement in support of the original post and alleging that the statement in the original post is true, video links must be included to the post by the person alleging that the particular matter or a similar one has happened to them too. On the other hand, if it is a significant event that occurred in one game that warrants investigation, then the one video link would suffice. The onus should be on those wanting to prove a point.
Information directing those wishing to make a claim to their career tab, then ‘File Browser tab, then ‘Films & Clips’ Tab, then temporary History tab, so that they can save their film containing the alleged evidence to their ‘My File Share’ folder, would be helpful in the claim process.
Further, links to Carnage Reports should also be provided if making claims about some event that happens game in and game out, or in the majority of games. This must be done in order to provide evidence to the claim made.
Summary:
343i, please give serious consideration to the addition of new forum rules which require that claims made about any particular facet of Halo 4 and Halo Reach must be supported by evidence.
I appreciate your time taken to consider my proposal.
With kind regards
WolfBlade XIII
