I truly hope that people with some influence at 343 are reading this post. I love this game, but there’s so much wrong with Arena games that it’s nearly gamebreaking.
Hit registration is totally jacked. I can get actual headshots that don’t get registered, but someone can shoot me in the solar plexus and it’s considered a headshot. There’s zero consistency in hit detection, and it turns the tide in many Arena battles. This NEEDS to be addressed, and as soon as possible.
Second, the ranking system being based solely on win/loss is so wrong. Being on the winning team doesn’t mean you necessarily contributed to that success. Because of that, it’s totally possible to consistently be matched against people you have no chance against. Seriously, 343. This game isn’t fun if you don’t have a chance. Old NES games with their unforgiving difficulty are easier to deal with than your matchmaking based on rank. Do it like it SHOULD be, ranking individual players on THEIR own stats. Nothing else.
And lag. Oh, the damn lag. People with normal working wages want to play this game, and shouldn’t need fiber-optic connections just to play this damn game without dealing with lag. Not only does it mess with hit detection, but players lag-warp like crazy, making us think they’re cheating. I’m talking like 3-5 lag warps in a 2 second window. Pathetic. I’m more worried about Lag than Warden Eternal, Gravemind, Tartarus, or any other creature in the actual games.
You’ve done a great job with the series since you picked it up from Bungie. The story is great, the characters are great, but your multiplayer experience is HORRIBLE. Please, for the love of Spartans everywhere, FIX THESE ISSUES!!!
