Everything is going to be OK

We all love Halo here right? The gameplay looked solid and fun. The story looks like it is there. Sure the textures and lighting needs work but there is plenty of time to touch up on stuff that needs it. Stuff that can’t he fixed this late is how the game plays and it looks FUN. Sure we didn’t get everything we wanted… like a beta… or more/newer gameplay… but we are in the middle of a pandemic and they are doing the best possible and I don’t really see a reason to over react. Everything will be OK and I am still hyped out of my mind for what is coming! Does anyone else feel this way? It just seems there is way more negativity than needs to be.

I agree. Things can always improve after launch as well.

I’m optimistic, but I think it needs more time, considering the brutes look like monkeys and still have no expression, the battle rifle looks bland and echerum’s face still looks like a rubber mask in the gameplay trailer which was clearly made after the demo, although the weapon do look better except the battle rifle it look similar to the AR in the demo as far as quality goes

I don’t think any of the Covenant ever really had much of an expression outside of cutscenes in any prior game. Like, they move and emote, but I don’t think the faces ever moved much. Not that they would even have to-it’s a hard element to notice if you aren’t picking through a game frame-by-frame (Cough cough Craig Cough cough)

Lot’s of development time left. Halo will look good at launch and even better once the ray tracing patch releases.

It certainly looked and sounded fun for now. I recall Halo 5’s campaign did not have any horrid squeaky hit marker and shield regen sound effects but its multiplayer did in spades!

The engine intrigues me. I’m planning on having a Series X at launch, and it looks to me like I won’t have to sit through loading screens in Infinite at all!

If this was post Halo 4, and you told me it was “going to be okay”, I’d feel confident. But since this is post Halo 4, 5, MCC, NightFall, canon retcons, Didact death in a comic, Jul M’dama Janus Key story drop, and Xbox1… I’m a little worried.

Yep. Still feeling ok.

The graphics looked a fair bit better in the post-event 4K vids. The poor quality live stream did it no favours.

The Digital Foundry breakdown explained a lot of the problems… and how most of them are fixable.

But it should be no surprise things look a little rough given the COVID situation. Will they make the launch date? I hope so…

Quite telling that pretty much no AAA game showed off unadulterated game play - except for Halo… and look where honesty gets them.

There is still time to tart things up a bit.

Importantly the game play looked solid enough. Not entirely sold on the grappling hook… but happy to give it a go. Would have like a more definitive answer on sprint / slide.

Story is a mystery - and that’s good. I’m assuming that the same people complaining that the trailer told us little about the plot are the same people who were up in arms that Halo 5 told us too much (and then went and changed it anyway).

They need to do some solid PR damage control though. Some multiplayer / Forge would be the way to go.

Frankly, I feel as though people are being just a little too harsh with criticism on what was presented. I’ve gone back and forth regarding my feelings on it over the past few days and I’m still optimistic overall. Yeah, it didn’t look perfect, but I’d imagine most of the gripes people have with the game can be fixed or probably have been fixed if the story that the demo was using an old build is to be believed. As far as I’m concerned, it seems that the visuals are the only thing that need fixing. The gameplay looks like it’ll be an absolute blast. I can’t wait to traverse the environment with the grapple shot and use all these brand new weapons. I wanna yeet fusion coils at every enemy I see as often as possible. I love seeing this franchise grow and evolve all the time, for better or worse. At the end of the day, it’s still Halo, and I am always down to play every installation of every game to absolute death. I just hope that we get a complete experience at launch, unlike Halo 5, because that was excruciatingly disappointing.

Hopefully 343 Industries will fix the graphics in the upcoming Halo Infinite. I really want the new Halo video game to be great.

I am hype and getting on my one as I dont mind little issues in the game as I like the idea of new and old mixed even though I am a classic halo fan. But can at least adapt to it

We all hope that, but like that did state before, it really isn’t easy to develop the games, plus it is really hard to please every player from old and new as they gotta do the best of what they got, and pray that it will turn out really good and that both new and old can enjoy a game that they all been asking for.

Yup, it is going to be fine. Sprint isn’t the end of the world, the game does not graphically look worse than Halo 3 or even 4.

Everyone needs to relax.

I agree with you. Everyone needs to chill. Including me

They would have pleased the vast majority if they released something approximate to the 2018 engine demo.

Yes, not everybody would like the style, but posts like this wouldn’t be necessary as damage control.

At least we aren’t getting a fantastic looking preview and then when the game releases it looks half as good. Cough Anthem Cough.
