Halo used to be about skill, map control, fair shootouts, great soundtracks, and most importantly being fun to play.
Halo 4 has none of this.

I am glad you have opinion on this game. Would you like a cookie?

there is a game called dominion. i don’t know if you’ve played it, but it has a little to do with map control.

The Halo 4 soundtrack is amazing. Go to amazon and download the whole thing, instead of judging it by the snippets you hear in the game.
And yes, he wants a cookie.
Skill - Debatable as many things require various levels of skill; mastering weapons, vehicle handling, when and when not to take cover and so on and so forth.
Map control - Again debatable as the very term can range from camping to covering certain points on the map due to strategic importance like the middle hill on Ragnarok. As another pointed out there is also a gametype exclusively built around controlling the map called “Dominion”.
Fair shootouts - Really I thought thT “pro” players would say that player/weapon spawn camping was more important to them. This point can be argued however as weapon balance at the moment is questionable.
Great soundtracks - Your opinion, I personally like Halo 4’s soundtrack. Halo 3’s was still the best, but that was the climax of a trilogy and an epic soundtrack was expected.
Fun to play - Again this is just your opinion. I find it fun and enjoyable. The players however have a tendency to try to ruin my fun and enjoyment.
People who like this game simply do not have enough halo experience. The thing about competitive players (I am not one of them) is that they notice the flaws of a game before others do. They do not notice new flaws that others do not eventually notice, they simply notice them earlier. In a few months or maybe even as long as a year most of these people will realize how bad of a game H4 truly is.
If it helps… I still think it’s fun. I mean seriously there is definitely a difference in skill between me and, per se, an MLG player. Stating that there is absolutely no skill to Halo 4 is a lie. I get my a** handed to me by more skillful players all the time. Not to mention map control. Especially on exile. The other team always seems to take the power weapons and rush to the vehicles, leaving my team with nothing to fight back. And about the soundtracks, I think they’re great. Saying that they’re bad is just your opinion, and not everyone feels the same. I appreciate your opinion though.
At least as of right now, we are missing the awesome easter eggs featured in other halos like Scarab Gun, Tribute Room, Chief hidden in the cutscene, Password, Skulls. Where is this stuff!?

I have played Halo since CE came out, and I played Halo 2 and 3 religiously online. I played Reach a little but got sick of it fast.
Your post is idiotic and moronic to say the least. I enjoy playing Halo 4, so that immediately means I don’t have enough Halo experience? Yes, the game has flaws and could use a good ranking system, but as a whole I think the game is good and enjoyable.
You don’t even deserve a cookie.
dominion is bad example of map control. camping in your base hoping for a good OD like rockets so you can push another base is more of randomness then map control. I guess there is a sliver of map control but all you have to do is camp your base which is ok but cheap and easy.

I’ve played Halo since November of 2001, both LAN and XBC, thousands of games
I played Halo 2 via Lan and XBL, thousands of games.
I played Halo 3 on XBL for multiple thousands of games.
I only played 1000 games of Reach because I wasn’t a fan.
I’m up to about 600 games of Halo 4
I like Halo 4 and have probably played more games of Halo than 90% of players. Your theory is wrong, and it’s bad and you should feel bad.

True… makes me sad and angery.

You don’t need rockets to advance to other bases, I’ve taken plenty with my trusty AR and grenades, though a shotgun would indeed be awesome from time to time.
And by map control it was used as an example because controlling the map is literally the way to win; not only taking bases but defending them as well. Simply camping one base will get you a loss not a win.

im in the top 1% of most games played in H1 H2 H3 and Reach world wide. H4 SUCKS. fix it.

true but there is a degree of randomness you need in competitive games that makes or breaks your chances of winning so its not all map control you need.

dont hate the player hate the game.

If this game is no fun then why are so many people playing it? Just sayin’.
Also I was in the top 100 for H4 but that was before I stopped playing 29 days ago.
Lets start:
CE was the best. It was only friends with a big plate of nachos, but it had no online so we move on.
H2 was glitchy as all get out and the story was appalling. Some interesting mechanics but the glitching and crap internets really made it hard to play.
H3 was the hieght of traditional Halo, but memorizing map spawns and constant Host swapping caused repeats of the same game. Sure people stayed after ODST but many found a new game that was rising fast, (CoD).
Reach added a few new items but formed two groups: forgers and MLGs. For a there group that just wanted into a game for a few hours there was nothing because the 2nd group would always beat you to a spawn or was part of a clan, and the 1st would never invite you to a game because you didn’t know anyone that still played. Simply put, CoD and Battlefield keep their players.
Don’t get me wrong spawn camping of weapons was great for kills if you could protect the weapon, but it just gets old to the point that every game had red lines on the same kill zones. Just an old dead mechanic.
Halo 4, has a few problems, mostly magnetism and auto aim. Auto aim needs to be off, it help no one, and magnetism needs to be reduced by half. I know there is no ranking system, Spartin level is not a ranking system, but I see no point in measuring mine against yours since I am an old fart with a real job. I am sure you will get some ranking system that you will not like, because you are never pleased.
Minus these few flaws, Halo is refreashing to play again and each game is a blast. The campaign is a great continuation of the story and adds to the universe. Spartin Ops feels like a SciFi channel show, yeah it’s horrible acting and some set design gets repeated, but have you ever watched Farscape, Stargate or Warehouse 23? This is what a first season should be.
Multiplayer needs work for a few things but nothing major. It truly is the best out of the box Halo. Every other one took months or years to fix most problems, and that is if we were lucky. The threat of power weapons is great, and I seem to have no problem avoiding and taking most of the toys from players. In fact getting the toy is much more satisfying when in te hands of another.
Personally if I didn’t like it, I have the intelligence and money to get another game. 343 has a vision and if you don’t like 80% of the game then Halo 4 is not worth sticking around for, but personally I will miss trying to take your toys.
