Everyone will be SR130 in a Week!

It took me 6 months to get to Grade 3 General on Reach, of frequent but intermittent play. Now everyone knows that a system where everyone attains the top rank by the end of the week is beyond risible. According to other posts and players, a person can expect to rank up SR25 a day with frequent play. Lets not forget all the Double XP promotions on top of that.

With everyone SR130 (Inheritor in Reach) the idea of attaining the top rank is now completely worthless. 343 need to change the margins needed to rank up soon after launch and issue a rank reset like Bungie did with Halo 2 or people will become extremely frustrated that they unlocked everything the progression system had to offer in a week. In Reach, I never unlocked everything, which was part of the incentive to keep playing.

Anyone agree Halo 4 needs higher margins to make it harder to rank up?

I think 6-7 months of steady play is perfect. about general in reach.

I definitely agree in the sense that, currently, it seems to easy to level up. For this reason, they have implemented a daily XP limit. I believe this response is reactive as opposed to proactive (your solution). Once I hit max rank, however, I won’t lose any enjoyment in the game. It is when 343i dictates how much XP I can earn in a day that will make me lose enjoyment.

The longer it takes to rank up, the better, it gives you something to look forward to.

I hate when polls put words in your mouth. Did not vote.

They should have made the ranking system like this:
Level 1 to Level 2: 2 Games won
Level 2 to Level 3: 3 Games won
Level 3 to Level 4: 4 Games won
Level 4 to Level 5: 5 Games won
This cycle continues to Level 100. The catch to this system is if you lose a game, it minuses one won game.

I want to reach the top rank in around 3 months or of playing 3-4 hours a day. Since everything is unlock people don’t want to wait 3 years to unlock everything especially when in reach you have 10 million credits left over which is stupid.

To most people including me, Reach took too long to rank up. I’m a Mythic right now and need about 15,000,000 credits to get to Inheritor, and I’ve been playing since launch day!

Yes, but remember your rank doesnt buy you all the armor. Yes it should be something relatively hard to obtain, so i agree there, but not the grind that is was in reach.
What unlocks armor?
Commendation and combo commendation completion
Achievements, like beating campaign on legendary.
“certain SR” ranks
Waypoint unlocks through milestones.
Let me know if i left anything out.

So you will know certain things about a player when you see the hardest pieces to unlock, unlocked.

No. Only LE owners will. SE owners will only be SR-70, they have to wait until the 30th I think it is.

Reach was way too long to rank up, another reason I think it was the worst Halo.

I want to be level 50 within a few months, so that I have most of the things unlocked, and why do you think top ranked people still play games? because it’s fun, you don’t need to be levelling up to have fun playing the game.

Oh man, so you know how long it takes to get to SR 130? Lol, nobody has gotten even close to that far yet so for all we know getting one specialization could take forever.

There needs to be no rank limit and everyone gets reset game release.

Every Specialization should have taken as long as it takes to get to SR-50 or SR-25 at the least. (Not sure how long a specialization track takes currently)

I believe at SR-40 it is about 34,000 xp to level up to SR-41. To put that into context, players were getting around 2100 for winning a game below rank 10, with the win bonus only being around 200 xp out of that xp total. Throw in commendations and the like and I can see people progressing through the system very quickly.

I somewhat agree. Yes reaching the max rank in a week is way too easy, but Reach in my opinion takes too long and with the Specialisations in 4 it’s good that the higher ranks are easier to reach.

Honestly i dont care lol…as long as I can get to SR-24 really fast/easily and unlock the light rifle/ firepower perk, im fine with it being easy. After SR-26 though it should be a lot harder to rank up.

I personally think that they made 1-50 SR fast because it unlocks weapons and stuff that is usable in game. Wouldn’t be fair if it took months to get everything. I think the real ranking will come in when we enlist into a specialization. 10 SR each time could be the same as 1-50 SR originally. Who knows…?

Maybe the ranking system should be indefinite, so you can hit ranks such as SR500 or even SR2000.

NO! that’s too easy that kinda how it is now, yours is probably easier.
make ranking up to 50 2x, 3x longer than it is now. maybe then it would be good

Thats what i am thinking, specialization will take some time. Even longer if you are going for them all, and lets be honest, who isnt?

I am just happy we get three more halo games, all this other stuff is just petty things we are stressing about until we start playing ourselves.
