November, they will allow for you to play all Halo Xbox 360 games, on Xbone.
Want Splitscreen?
-Play any of them!
Want Elites?
-Play 2-4! Play Reach!
Want Firefight?
-Play ODST, & Reach!
Want Invasion?
-Play Reach!
Want Reach medals?
-PLAY REACH!
See where I’m going with this?
Halo 5, is Halo 5. Halo 5 has Arena, and Warzone. It doesn’t have any of the previous items I just mentioned. Get over it. Stop making more and more posts about it, it just spams the entire forum with it. You have the ability to play the stuff you want, in November. Literally 4 days after Halo 5 releases. Have at it. Leave Halo 5 alone.
People want to play the newest version of Halo. And people feel that old successful futures should be in all future version. So NO, people shouldn’t have to play older games in order to enjoy features that should be in the lastest version of Halo.
Yeah but I think what people want is 343i to build off those beloved ideas from past halo games, make them better, re invent them, let it grow! And going from 60 fps to 30 is horrible I tried today… I don’t know how I survived. But seriously it’s the little things that matter the small details.
Just look at the Disney parks, all the small details here and there add up to the bigger picture a great experience you feel like you are actaully in new Orleans, or the caribbean. I know my examples is a little extreme but if the little things keep getting taken out from halo what glory is left? IMO 343 is doing an awesome job with Halo 5! And it doesn’t bother me much that some of these game types/modes/experiences are not coming back but as a old fan I’d love to see them return in some way or another.

Where is this rule that says it ‘should be in’ the latest version of Halo?
Dual wielding was in Halo 2/3, and was crap in concept.
Elites are worthless due to hitbox issues and far too large for multiplayer.
Split screen was removed due to it’s strain on resources.
Firefight was fun, on Reach and ODST. Just because it was fun back then, doesn’t mean it will work with the core concept of Halo 5, or with the weapons, etc. They don’t even have the same enemies they used in Firefight anymore. (not ALL of them)
Invasion was a one sided and uneven gametype. You only have to defend once to win, you had to continue to advance to win if you were attacking. Uneven = Not Halo 5.
Medals worked well on each particular game, as they were. Trying to force the next game to change their medals because you liked one particular game, doesn’t make much sense.
I’m sure there are many more, but there are also reasons as to why they are no longer here. It’s simple in concept for you to figure it out, but people are becoming far too stubborn in their nostalgia. That’s not how it works.

…Basic features? I assume you mean split screen, because that would be the only thing that might be considered basic. There is a reason it’s not there. They told you why. Stop crying.
Because complaining about complaints is way more constructive.
It’s a forum, it exists for people to discuss, express their opinions and provide their thoughts. If you don’t want to read a thread about subject X, scroll past it.

Isn’t that pretty much what I just did there buttercup?
It’s simply a matter of resources.
If 343i had unlimited personnel, time and money I’m sure they would be happy to include every little feature fans asked them for.
Expectations are a beast in sequels.
People expect them to have everything the past games had and much more.
In the end that’s unrealistic and it all comes down to the developers decisions.
343i decided to go for a lenghty coop-campaign - they decided against SpaOps.
343i decided to go for Warzone - they decided against Firefight.
343i decided for a 60 fps game with large battlefields and dedicated server coop - they decided against Split-Screen.
You might not agree with some of these decisions however I think it would be fair to judge the overall vision and product after exploring all the content and offerings. Of course it’s easier to moan over what you already know you enjoy, please just keep in mind that there might be other things you havn’t experienced that might be as good or even better.

Someone either didn’t read my comment, or listen/watch the Gamescom announcement. All HALO 360 games will be playable starting in November. Was directly before, or after (I forgot which, it’s too late for me to recall right now) the invitational.
Halo 5 tried to go for a battlefield vibe but not really oh well one can hope they bring a ton of vehicles for each species and tons of weapons. Also hope the different types of vehicles carry over to btb than just warzone.

2: Because those issues are totally not fixable when making a new game?
4: Myeaah no. There’s really no question if assets in Halo 5 wouldn’t work in a firefight mode because the mode can be made to work with the assets. Not that it probably would take that much of an effort either. It’s PvE, if campaign works then so would a new firefight.
5: Yet somehow Warzone is even? Or a potential Action Sack? What about one sided objectives altogether?
7: Nostalgia is such an easy way out. Perhaps people liked the old stuff because it geniounley worked well? Perhaps I for instance want Firefight in Halo 5 because I want to experience an old game mode I enjoyed with the new tech we got? With the new assets and enemies.
Bet the Nostalgia card and “play older Halos” card wouldn’t apply to you if they removed Customs, Forge, Theatre, Co-Op or Multiplayer, or whatever you happen to enjoy in Halo.

I agree.
We could argue that if you wanted a Halo with sprint and AR starts then play Halo 4.
And if we all kept playing the old games then how on Earth are the new ones meant to sell.
OP is being very defensive over 343i and people’s reactions to their choices.
Dude, just imagine how cool would be Firefight with H5 gameplay and new additions (eg. prometheans, flood, odsts drop, pelicans bringing in marines, maybe a firefight forge)
it would not be the same as H Reach, it would be a lot better (just how H Reach’s Firefight customization made it better than odst’s - disclaimer: I didn’t like the game types featured in the matchmaking playlist)

well bungie had 3 shots at balancing Elites in multiplayer and failed every time so…

Yes, and your opinion seems to amount to “everyone stop saying things I don’t agree with”. You’re complaining about people spamming the forums, when you could just as easily scroll on past the posts that clearly don’t interest you.

To my knowledge, there has never been many differences between elites and Spartans. The only actual problem I’ve seen has been the hole in the neck for the Elite. So, doea elites use the same hitbox as spartans or not? Or close to the same seeing as it’s something Bungie stated.
I’d also say it’s two games. Halo 2 introduced them and Halo 3 probably slated out some issues, I remember reading somewhere that they were downscaled for MP.
Reach had Bungie say “Screw it” and totally redesigb Elites for multiplayer where the only case you’d be playing SvE was Invasion. Elites having fadter shield recharge and full Health regen, from what I remember off the top of my head. They didn’t try to make them equal.
So again, issues in past games can’t be fixed and should therefore be scrapped in the next?
