Lets end host advantage forever!!!
Lets decrease lag overall
Lets do what Epic Games is already doing (because they want Gears 3 to be a incredible game)
Less red bar games
Less quitting
More skill
More fun
More Halo.

Dedicated servers remove host advantage and lagswitching.
They add incredibly high maintenance costs, advantages for players who live closer to the servers, and just more lag overall as you get more and more population.
And they’re also easier to program for.

Host advantage is actually lower than its ever been. Thanks to client trust it detects who has the lowest connection and adjust to make sure they have a decent game. The bad part, is it feels like every one is playing on a bad connection because of just one person. So, it kinda sucks, but host advantage means a lot less than it used to.
Actually, it will only reduce lag for people well connected to the server… So, there may still be lag
That would be nice. But try to remember there will be costs. If the games price doesn’t go up, DLC price will or at many other micro transactions will be introduced. Some how, some way… Expect to pay more
If you have a good connection, you rarely get a red bar. Remember, even now one player in the game is acting as a server (host) if you have a poor connection to that host… It’s a bit the same as having a bad connection to the server. Servers will not fix red bar unless there is a world wide halo server network where servers only serve to local or good connections. If the servers are only here in the US… Expect outrage from players outside continental US. Because even if 4 players in the UK are playing 4players in the UK… The server is hella far away.
Explain how this will positively affect quitting instead of forcing people who live overseas from the servers to constantly quit in frustration…
Edit- what the hell? Could have swore I was in halo 4 section of the boards and some how ended up on a dead Reach thread from 2 years ago?
We’ve been asking for dedicated servers since Halo 2. I doubt it’s happening if it hasn’t happened by now.
