I agree. I use to be competitive back in Halo 3 when I was younger and in my prime but now I go for the social, casual online experience. Social playlists are a definite MUST for Halo 5.

I’m in plat 1, but I still don’t care. I just WANT TO HAVE FUN!!! If there was an unranked game mode, I would play it. But since there isn’t, I’m playing against mega tryhards.
If you aren’t playing to win, I don’t understand the point of playing, yes the point of games is to have fun.
I don’t know about you but I don’t have much fun getting mud stomped and respawning every 10 seconds…

Although it is true that we are playing to win, whether it be social or competitive, there is a difference between the two.
Social is more of just playing around for fun, not really strategizing with your team and using weapons you usually wouldn’t use. Competitive is the complete opposite. Some people like one or the other (or both sometimes). The issue right now is that the ranking system for Halo 5 is forcing more casual players into a competitive environment. Some players may want a silver rank, but just happen to get platinum or diamond.
I personally think that Halo 5 should stick with the Halo 3 ranking system. It would solve the issue of having casuals mixed with competitive.
That is not what I mean. I understand winning is fun, I understand getting mud stomped isn’t fun (that’s mostly a spawn issue though…) I don’t mind losing, I don’t mind winning. When I play, I am not looking for a lot of kills, I’m not looking for a lot of deaths either. I just want it so I don’t have to play a game of the MLG playlist from Halo 3 and Reach every time I want to play slayer. I want a more social experience. I want it where I can plug my mic in, have a nice conversation with either people in my house, in the lobby, or some friends. The point in playing is to win obviously, but I don’t want to have to tone the previously mentioned thing out because the game is WAY TOO serious when it comes to the entirety of multiplayer. I want to have fun, if that means I’m not winning, but at the same time I’m not mad because I’m not taking the game seriously, than that is that is the way it should be. You can play the ranked, I play with my friends on unranked (if they add it), and have a better time.

I’m platinum 1 in team arena, and I’m certainly not playing for rank. i’d rather have a social playlist as well so I don’t have to try 24/7.
The problem I have is that you can’t rank down tiers. I’m in diamond and I usually avoid arena when I’m playing alone.
