IMO, anytime a compnay tries to “balance a game” they end up with more issues than not.
Take Destiny that was never created to be balanced, being that it’s a PvP/PvE game that was designed to be more PvE orientated. You can’t have one mode work one way without really affecting the other, meaning how it will affect the players experience.
The problem doing this is that you end up with a lot of unhappy players. The result of it, D2 is laterally a mess that the company has to (constantly nerf things) and that is not making the players happy at all, becase they attempted to balance the entire game when D2 launched and it ruined the fun experience the game used to give. The entire game was watered down and now they have to work off of their actions becase of how the base game was designed.
Again, IMO “balancing a game” takes a lot of fun out of a game, and you end up with what you have now, players saying what’s “OP” and what’s way too watered down. The interesting thing is, what is a company to do with that. Make a game fun, or balanced?
