All the posts I’m seeing on here are unnecessarily negative. A ton of people seem to not understand that the multiplayer is still in beta and that not everything is out yet, and that there are also bugs. Battlepass progression isn’t great, but it also isn’t this evil and game breaking monstrosity (Like Halo 5 remember). The main thing making progression slow is that some challenges are bugged and won’t complete, once those are fixed it will go much faster. Also, the next season is in May, so they obviously don’t want people completing it in one day. And for all you complaining about free items, you got 8 just for logging in, plus the HCS free bundle and visor you can earn (which they have also decided to just give to everybody lol). But most importantly, like it was STATED CLEARLY BEFORE, the limited time events will be free, which means free armor that is only able to be earned, bozos. Remember, they released multiplayer early, so it makes sense that they don’t want people eat up extra content when players are literally playing the game for the first time. And again, this is a beta, so obviously not all the maps and gamemodes are out and they have repeatedly said that they are going to continually tweak things. These are not predatory microtransactions, and they are making them better anyway. What’s important is that they got the gameplay right, and that the game core as a whole is not affected by microtransactions at all, so they can easily change it. My one small critique is that it would be cool to have a separate level system that isn’t connected to the battle pass to see how much a player has played, it could go next to the nameplate. Other than that, 343 has done a great job and I’m sure they will iron out the bumps by December, so relax people 
I read your first couple of lines. What beta gives you achievements and let you carry over your battle pass? This is technically they’re December 8th launch multiplayer… the only reason why they put betta is for legal reasons because they released it early when they advertise that they was going to be released on December 8th. Also as far as anything getting done I would not hold our breath because this is the same 343 that took seven months to give us an infection playlist in Halo 5.
The beta thing is very confusing for me. Is it a beta or is it not? They call it a beta but haven’t said anything about changes that will come with the official launch.
For example are the weapon spawns swapping on maps just a stupid feature or are they testing the best weapon placements? Are there more maps? Will we get more game modes and playlists?
It being a beta would point to yes launch will improve things but then there’s already limited time events popping up. And ranked playlist division will carry over (so likely no ranked slayer vs objective).
I think if they do something like this early release you either need to commit to it being an early release or explicitly state what generally is still a work in progress or not polished.
We don’t have swat, snipers, doubles, slayer, a different btb playlist, etc.

I want to lean into it’s just the beta thing but at the same time I have little faith.
The cosmetics are just laughably poorly handled across the board from what we’ve seen. Ya there’s the cool samurai event but at this rate I’m assuming I’m going to have to play gametypes I don’t want to whole hoping some stupid rng situation presents itself to me.
theyve said a lot about the changes in INSIDE INFINITE which is a monthly episode of notifications of future patches and content. they are not ignoring these problems, have faith in 343.
Didn’t they say that this was the launch content? Also, those “free stuff” we all got were a coating and emblems, when everyone wants ARMOUR. The free events, while having armour, are all new armours, when there are a lot of people who just want classic armour without paying.
Halo 5’s progression was random and bloated, but at least I could earn customization unlocks. Give me a pay to play option so I don’t have to deal with the ridiculously overpriced shop bundles and battle pass. I have 0 armor unlocks and handful of challenge swaps which are meaningless to me unless they rework the progression.
I want to believe trust me. But I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again they’ve had seven years. They nailed the core gameplay. But they really dropped the ball on many other things. Despite having betas back in August. And we all know about the customization situation. I’ve said this before its 2021 we should be able to customize are Spartan nips at this point. Not just now getting wrist attachments that we had eleven years ago. and acting like it’s some huge big deal that 343 is finally letting us customize our Spartan. Ironically with the same equipment that they had 11 years ago. Like smh…
We dont just want free stuff, we want access to a feature staple to halo without the need to pay out the -Yoink!- for cosmetics. It may be 20$ for you but in canada, where i live, it comes out to 30$ for the zveda armour set. I want to look like a spartan not a samurai, and i wanna do it without the need to pay out the blank for it
It’s not a beta. If you call this a “beta” you’re calling those Battlefield/cod multiplayer early trials betas too. The full game comes out exactly 3 weeks from now.
What have they done to earn that “faith”, honestly?
It’s not just something you randomly drop or lose, like the screwdriver you casually put away but can’t find anymore.
You do something, and people lose faith in you, and i343’s track record isn’t great.
Yeah. people are pointing out a lot of negative things. But if they’re unhappy about things it’s better to say so than say nothing.
343i actually shouldn’t have any faith from halo fans, the fact we took liking to infinite at the beginning was a good sign of things looking up.
They changed everything about the designs for no reason, added cod loadouts to multiplayer, had a confusing story and then tossed it in the trash with halo 5, which has such a terriple plot that it literally hurts my head to play, added lootboxes to halo, p much everything about halo 5 was a flop, and the only reason people are so hyped for this game was because they were hoping for a return to form, instead we got an open world shooter (not complaining its actually pretty cool) with a cod/fortnite store locking all the armour away. Anyone whos a halo fan and went through halo 5 is probably steaming right now, i know i am. This multiplayer cosmetic system sucks abysmally, and if the campaign flops too, its all over for halo

I agree, everyone needs to chill. If you spent as much time on the game as you do typing paragraphs of the same multiple complaints over and over that 343 stated they were fixing, you might see how awesome the gameplay is. Which is what matters most.
For everyone who says " they said months ago they were fixing it" Do you know how long it takes to fix anything? Probably not. Anyone that says they do know how long, you probably don’t know how long it takes on their new gaming engine that they built.
Do they themselves know? Communication is key and giving timeframes are gold in keeping people calm.
Well of course no one outside of i343 can give a good estimate.
But, wasn’t the new engine made to also be easier to work with for them?
If it takes them a long time to fix things because of the engine, they said would be easier, either they’re not prioritising the issues, or they messed the engine up and it’s not easy.
Which again leads to better communication being essential in keeping a crowd calm.
It’s more halo being it’s own thing good. Halo being forced into the what popular right now box which makes it suck.
I think it’s easy to see at the core 343 loves halo and spent time with it and it’s tough to take something so loved and keep it evolving but true to form. They really totally lose it in terms of these weird loot box, battle pass, challenges, menu options, etc. it looks like they spent time building an amazing base and then through on monitization last minute without actually thinking about how the player interacts with anything.
Now we have a stupid battle pass, no default customization, slow progression, few maps, no forge, etc

Exactly. This IS the launch gameplay. There’s no “if’s” “ands” buts" or “technicallys” about it.
Have you read the post lol? They have stated that they are going to fix progression, and the free pathways to items are not available yet
