So is every Specialization Ability going to be a Support Upgrade in our loadout? Or are some passive abilities? Tactical package? Armor ability??
They’re all support upgrades.
They are all support abilities, probably so that you can not stack any of them.
Wetworks ability is only useful if there is no motion sensors…and since there is no custom loadouts in playlists without motion sensors, it’s useless.
Operators ability is only useful if the DMR didn’t exist.
That’s what I can tell of the abilities so far.
I will truly never understand why people on message boards insist answering questions when they don’t know the answers…
NOT all of them are Support Upgrades. Some of them are, sure, but others, such as Pioneer, are actually tactical packages.
So how do you tell which are tactical packages vs support upgrades? Also ive read up on these specializations and how they have 10 levels, but how and when do you gain access to the perks these specializations give you? Is it the entire time while using it, then once you hit level 10 and pick the next spec, then you can have that in your spec?
For example if i were to level up pioneer up to 10 and then move onto my next spec, would i then be able to use the pioneers tac package and then my new specs support upgrade?
Can someone shine some light on this topic for me?
Thanks

I am 56 in WW and you get your perk at level 10, so I would get WW perk at level 60(or 10 for the specialization level).
When I get to 60 and can pick Operator, I could then fill you in if the perk is always available no matter which Specialization you are in.

Each Specialization has 10 ranks. Ranks 2-4 are Shoulders, Torso and Head armors (respectively), 5 is a weapon skin, 6 has emblems*, 7-9 are alternate skins for the same armor, and 10 is the upgrade that goes in your loadouts. You cannot unlock the loadout item until you’ve reached that Specialization’s 10th rank. Once it’s unlocked, you can find it in either the Tac or Support categories, depending on which one it unlocked into, and use it freely much like any other purchase you made with Spartan Points.
*Don’t quote me on that, because it might be the Visor color, or both.
i just picked my second specialization adn im pretty sure that rouges ability is in the support package. adn pioneer is in the tactical package. and you can use them in a different specialization. you only unlock it once you complete the specialization.
Awesome thanks for the quick response guys.
So am i correct in assuming that you mean, if i were to hit 50, and pick WW, i would not get the bonus WW provides until i get to spec level 10 or SR 60? Or do i get to use it so long as im using the spec?
Im still not quite sure if the spec is a class of its own, or something more like a skill tree, where i have to level it up before i can use the last box or skill in it, if you considered the armor as skill points/boxes in this RPG metaphor/example.
Thanks again

youd have to hit sr 60 to use the ability.
Damn i was hoping to unlock it early. But at least this is a nice little skill tree to progress through in a way. But your not limited in any way when you pick one of the specs right?
How long does it take you guys to level from lets say 49-50, 50-51, or 59-60?
I pulled an all-nighter the 2nd night i had the game, my friend and i were playing for about 6 hours switching game modes and constantly tweaking our loadouts, and then we hit an xp cap. This being my account and him not wanting to waste any commendations worth of xp we both stopped playing since we were trading off who was guest and who was using my account because of our different play styles and strategies.
And just to verify, you do have to spend the cr once you unlock the new spec or what have you? Sounds just like the normal leveling method in the game but once your 60 you get to choose what your next unlock would be.
Thanks again, i really appreciate the answers, your time, and the friendly responses.
Im so used to forums filled with flamers, and im surprised to finally be in a halo forum that doesnt have at least 1 person trying to argue or belittle me with each post i make lol
i wanna say that 49-50 was in the 40k range. and there is no 50-51 once you pick a specialization you are rank 51. also from 51-60 its supposed to be about the same amount of xp as 41-50. and as for 59-60 its about 63k.
awesome thanks, so its not gonna take years to get em all done XD
im assuming it will take a long time to get the last couple of specs but still, i was expecting a lot more of a drastic slope for the specs, thanks again for the info
Thanks for the input guys. Wish they had made a more detailed way to see which ability will go in which armor slot(Tactical package, Armor ability, Support upgrade) just so you can pick a path and have a plan. Just hit 60 and gona wait it out to see if we get the rest of the Specializations on the 20th. Also wish they had more non radar playlists!!
WetWork its sad and wasted ability as it stands. Hoping for those pro playlists!
Here are all the specializations effects and with each category:
-Support upgrades:
Stealth upgrade (WETWORKS) : It makes your footsteps much more quiet, your outline on Promethean vision is less obvious and your assassination animations are much quicker.
Stability upgrade (ROGUE): You get less flinch when shot while you are zoomed out with any weapon.
Gunner Upgrade (PATHFINDER) : Mounted and Warthog turrets take much longer to overheat as well that you can move at normal speed while carrying a detached turret.
Nemesis upgrade (STALKER) : When you get killed by an enemy, that enemy will get a waypoint over your his head.
Drop recon upgrade (TRACKER) : This allows the user to know when and where the map ordnance will drop.
-Tactical packages:
Wheelman package (OPERATOR) : Your vehicle once it gets EMP’D it will not go on a full stop and it also helps full term durability of the vehicle you are using.
Requisition package (ENGINEER) : You can refresh your personal ordnance if you didn’t like what you got.
Fast track package (PIONEER) : This will make you get more experience once the game is over.
