every problem i can think of in one list

These are in no order as im just writing them as i go along. These are my opinions, im not trying to state anything as fact. and please, please, if you are going to argue these, argue them, instead of just saying, “Nope, you’re wrong.”

So here i go…

Huge latency and lag problems. I have noticed it, as well as numerous others (in other threads) that our shots are becoming more inconstant. Latency? We aren’t bad, i was averaging like a 2.5 the first couple of days KD ratio or something now im at 1.4. Hosts dont change in match enough, like the game would rather let it lag 5 minutes then spend 30 seconds changing the host.

The “hit recoil” instead of zooming out when hit makes it more a spray and pray gunfight (even with precision weapons) then anything else. Am i alone in this?

The the original vehicles are far too easily destroyed by ordinary weapons. these include warthogs, ghosts, and banshees. This was brought up in halo reach when people thought the DMR affected the warthog too much, in terms of physics and damage. However its insane now. A banshee actually has a hard time flying across the map without catching fire, and its not because of vehicles or lasers, its because of dmrs and brs and light rifles.

Secondly, while the quality of grenades is questionable, there are FAR, FAR too many of them. I cannot figure out links to file shares ( I dont think halo 4 has a file browser on site yet) but if you look at “Joeysmashed” file share, there are 3 videos each from the same match where the sheer quantity of grenades is overwhelming (if you do take the time to watch them, which i doubt, keep in mind any of my gameplay you notice in those videos are NOT my usual gameplay. Many involve running out into a room full of enemies or similiar stupidities, i was frustrated and focused on getting my point across in the recordings)

DMRs pretty much outshoot every other precision primary, and too many of the precision primaries can cross map. This leads to my next and biggest point, below.

The whole game is becoming a mass game of hide and seek. Literally every match i play in ends up the same way. Someone is getting shot at from a relatively long distance across the map, and when they are almost dead, they take cover. This either results in a lost kill (and people just playing as usual) or the person who did the original shooting gets an assist, because the place where the almost-dead person took cover put him in the FOV of the shooter’s teammates. if that makes sense. So basically, it could be called hide, seek, and assists.

other problems. lemme see. Ordinance HUD notifiers are buggy. You can get melee kills from the grave. The needler can fire too far, and getting it guarantees anyone with the slightest amount of skill at least a kill or two. mech has too much health, and is difficult to get close enough to to do anything about it, either by hijack or plasma pistol. It controls the game until its finally taken down by sheer pounding after pounding after pounding.

But this constant hide and seek is what bothers me the most. Its more work than it is fun, waiting for someone to leave their cover, etc etc. Am i honestly the only person that sees this? im not bashing halo 4 simply because i hate the core, but i really want something done to end this hide and seek fest. its sad. it really is.

Oh yea. And ordinance is handed out too often. and the respawn system is really whack sometimes, as i spawn in the middle of a conflict or something. The initial spawns on haven are stupid for a symmetrical map as i said in my other thread. Zombies thruster packs are hard to dodge, maybe debuff the thruster and increase flood base speed?)

finally read this:

I know what your talking about especially BTB. The vehicles are bloody death traps, dmr br whatever they destroy banshees hogs even tanks wraiths and mechs! They should take halo 3 style of vehicle health.

I agree with that. I know they are trying to keep vehicles balanced, but there are enough dangerous weapons (binary rifle, sniper rifle, incineration cannon, light speed rocket launcher, free plasma grenades, etc etc) to keep vehciles on edge, without them having to worry about basic primary guns.

i just got back from reading a topic where the commenters agreed that Vehicles are a step up from Reach…
wah?

And please 343 add a death icon so when I die I can tell my friends where the enemy was!

i honestly have no idea whats going on on the forums. There are some really basic issues that have major controversies, and the problem seems obvious to both sides. It seems obvious to me that banshees ghosts and warthogs are destroyed way too easily, but to some other people they are impossible. Its bothering me too, no one can agree on anything…

One thing that I hate is how the dmr can almost outgun all guns. Its amazing in Cq, long range, and medium range.

> And please 343 add a death icon so when I die I can tell my friends where the enemy was!

dude, you have a killcam. What more do you need then that to know where the enemy was?

Updated original post with a few things.

Ya the dmr is just too easy to use, it seems like the auto aim works so much better than the light rifle. Mathmatically maybe the guns are balanced, but when it comes to actually using them it turns out diff. I hate bloom, but nerfing the dmr with that would work, but I would prefer to just add another bullet to kill with the dmr. We might actually see some light rifles and carbines then. It would also help smgs out, because who is going to use them with the dmr how it is now.

p.s. Flood needs to get rid of thruster pack, lower flood health, or give the humans better weapons, or somthing…

i kinda agree with that as well. Only played a few flood matches (as in 4 or 5?) but i noticed the thruster packs are insane…perhaps a small debuf in that and a small increase in speed.

added link to other thread in OP, as that also expresses several concerns.

Meh… I understand your beef, but each edition of the game has it’s perceived imbalances. Ultimately it is what it is and little will change because we prefer they way it was in the “olden days.”

but the thing is im not asking for change for nostalgic purposes, these are legitimate problems with the new stuff that im asking for fixes, not removals.

update, added lag, latency, and hit recoil to the list.
