I was a 5* General in Halo 3. I used to win almost every game too.
I understand that’s not a fun system for most people. Also have a 60%+ in most Infinite playlists and I rarely have to turn on the heat. So maybe your issues are under the category of gittin’ gud.
But if I go 20 kills plus casually I get punished next game with super sweats. So I’m not allowed to go off on kills and have fun gotta play in sweat lobbies all the time gotcha. I’ll play mcc for time being as a super lax in that game and I can enjoy myself without worry
That’s exactly how it works. More over, they recently admitted that is broken. People have figured out that your rank is also tied to your hidden rank in social. So if you throw a few games in social and then jump into ranked, you’ll get an easier game and/or you will be expected to lose which will cause a large bonus CSR if you win. Huge Reddit post about it and is referenced as one of the reasons behind the mid season rank reset
That’s the opposite of how it works. If you lower your MMR then your games will be easier but your CSR will also gain less as it gravitates towards your MMR at all times.
You think you know what you want, but if you had it, you would see that you don’t really want it. You don’t know what you find fun. 343 knows what you and your friends find fun, and so you will thank them for removing the option of social play, because even though you think social play would be fun, you are actually wrong and it is in fact not fun.
Such nonsense. Of course THAT game you described wouldn’t be fun. To act like that would happen every game with a random system is such stupidity. But the idea of true social is that the very next game YOU could be on the team with all onyx players stomping the other team and the next could be totally even. THATS social. If you want tight matchmaking go play ranked.
No, that is extreme sweatfest for everybody who isn’t extremely skilled and is nothing else as using the lower 50% of the playerbase as cannon fodder.
Social is that you play against people your own skill and being able to play with friends against an enemy with a simular skill make up.
SBMM in social is already extremely loose and creates matches with extreme skill gaps. This causes a tidal wave of quitters, because a lot of players just don’t have fun because they have no fighting chance, because they don’t want to fight on a losing team because they got paired up with noobs, because they can’t get any kills because the way more skilled player(s) are ‘stealing’ all the kills, etc.
The amound of matches that end in a steak is very high, it’s almost one of the more common medals, even though it shouldn’t be. That is just not good for the gameplaye and you already see players fleeing from the game, especially in the lower end of the spectrum. Why would you think that would be? If you don’t let people play against other there own skill, they have no fun and they will run away.
I’ve never had an issue joining custom games without any form of MMR. The likeliness of what you’re saying would happen might happen once ever 100 games you play.
I feel like these people aren’t also looking at it form the perspective of the lower level players.
Like you said, getting stomped by a team’s hard carry is gonna feel even sweatier than an even matchup.
Your average game getting sweatier is just a natural consequence of you getting better. Allowing you to pubstomp doesn’t solve the problem it just makes it worse for everyone else.
If you want a chill experience, the solution is to play more casual game modes with a flatter skill curve. Unfortunately, Infinite almost entirely lacks those and we probably won’t see anything along those lines until forge comes out.
Closest we have right now is Fiesta and to a lesser extent BTB, and those have their own frustrations.
That is what i meant when i said they have an elitist attitude.
That is the biggest issue. Every gamemode specific playlist is a form of slayer, wich are gamemodes that incentivice sweaty play, since that is how you win.
There is no objective playlist, wich were always the playlists where you could be more casual. This is a huge problem. 343 has completely abandoned the casual players by only producing sweaty gamemodes. Sure there are objective gamemodes, but they are ‘hidden’ in playlists that also have slayer in it, so you still have to play sweaty games…
I used to find social so sweaty. I played it non stop the first 2 months after the game released. Then I jumped to ranked, and played it almost exclusively until I hit Onyx. Recently jumped back to social and I am not having the same issues. The odd game I’ll be in for a good fight, but a lot of the time now I just run away with it.
Not sure if I have just got a lot better, or one of the updates has loosened the matchmaking. Either way I’m finding it pretty social these days
