*I personally enjoy the events but I just wish they were more unique*
Let’s talk about the events, love them or hate them they are apart of halo now. Do you enjoy them or would you rather them be something unique and special?
I personally thought events would be on specific maps or modes that are completely new. I’d much rather have a PvE experience with awesome rewards than play a game type that should already be in an objective playlist.
Also why must we complete current challenges just to unlock the event ones? Why can the event ones just be added to the list instead of being “unlocked”? Idk but that annoys me so much tbh.
I do enjoy them. I feel like it gives both us and 343i the opportunity to try out new game variants without having to fully implement them into the game. Like breakout would be a great event game.
The rewards are nice, and if this game manages to turn this fiasco around, they will provide some nice bragging rights years down the line for having event items no longer obtainable.
Absolutely. I think it’s a cool bonus that players can look forward to. I see nothing wrong with the events. I only wish that all the items associated with the event was earned and not in the store at all. The samurai event and the cyber showdown event both have cosmetics only available for purchase. They shouldve all been in the event to earn. But thats just my opinion.
The events are objectively the only reason I keep coming back to multiplayer. Not because I’m an event superfan or something like that, but because it gives me something new to do.
Do I like them? Loaded question. I resent the structures of Fracture: Tenrai and the Winter Contingency, but I’m a very big fan of how they handled the Cyber Showdown event.
I think as long as an event is going on, anything you do in the event match should count towards the pass, not just challenges. Make the xp cap higher in the event to balance out the lack of challenges, but playing an alternative special game mode and then forcing yourself to play around a specific challenge is annoying.
Yep- Challenges just suck the life out of the game for me. Imagine if black ops 1 had you running around getting ak74u or FAMAS or tomahawk kills to level up- Instead of just playing how you thought was fun.
Absolutely. The score you get each game should be transferred to XP and the BP/events can be scaled accordingly, say, like “7000” per BP level and “4000” for events (they have 20 tiers, then fractures have 30)
I think events are fine for the most part. I like having a little dedicated week or two to focus on new modes and earn a couple of freebies. I don’t think those alone can keep the game afloat without a new map(s) eventually though.
BUT I don’t like that they are tied to the challenge system. I feel like both the Winter Contingency and Cyber Showdown progressions should be used at the same time. You earn one tier for logging in each day and then one tier for each challenge you complete. That way you don’t risk needing challenge swaps (which are PAID ONLY once you complete the BP) nor making people sign in for 10 days but instead offer the flexibility of doing either/or or a mix of both.
I don’t like events and will probably never participate in them. Even weirder that they call it an event as if something huge was going on when really it’s just a basic gamemode

I’d rather them be PVE like destiny’s nightfall missions and just make it hard fun playlist to play and just enjoy unique cosmetics. Maybe introduce special unlocks for weapons Kinda like the campaign and you can use them in the game. Idk just some fun and not sweaty like online
I really like the events, but I think they could be a tad more inclusive. I enjoy the Tenrai events, but Fiesta is such a wacky game mode I can understand why people don’t enjoy it as much as I do. I’d be interested in seeing much more involved events that have a bit more nuance than “play matches” or “play matches in this specific playlist”
Yes. Game types rotating makes sense too, keeps things fresh.
Personally, I was so confused how to progress the event passes. It has been different with different events and I was never sure if I had to just play or complete specific challenges (and the holiday one was just 1 a day or whatever?) I eventually figured these things out online, but I’m sure many users want to earn specific event cosmetics but get frustrated that its not entirely clear how to do that.
I find it more annoying that they do t always pop up right away. Like you have complete existing challenges for the event ones to show up. Why not have all the weekly and then the event challenges just be added to the list? Then when you’re done it says “completed” until it resets
Not really. The modes just feel like just cut content being doled out piecemeal just to try to boost the mtx sales.
Like for this cyber event; they could have done something creative, like a shock weapon mode with insane speed and hp, or maybe a low gravity mode with infinite hammer and repulsor, sky is the limit. For the fracture event they could have made a mode with infinite swords and grapple so everyone could feel like a ninja. It’s supposed to be an event, go wild and be creative with it. Even if the modes sucked it would at least be memorable, and it’s a great way to test out new modes without committing to them long term.
Instead they hold these basic modes like elim and fiesta hostage, so rather than enjoying the event or being excited for the next one, I am just impatient for the event to end so elim can finally be added to ranked. Maybe when the next one comes around we can finally play assault or king of the hill, and then 2 weeks later we can play that outside the event listing too. Rinse and repeat until they run out of reserve content or come up with another way to boost sales.
