I have an idea. You can keep the “play 1 match a day, get 1 level a day” challenge for those who don’t have time. But also, you can have challenges that let you level up the entire event in 1 day for those who like to grind. Of course, ideally, there would be no challenges and just a certain amount of xp per level with performance based xp but we can only dream, right? You can also apply this to the Fracture events.
Thoughts?
So far there has only been 2 events that i can recall, teh tenrai and winter contingency. The winter contingency did have a 1 level per day requirement as described. The tenrai was also super easy to level on its second pass.
The BP itself was super easy. I completed it in about 3 weeks. If you stack the challenges and pop a double xp at the right times, you can fly through it to be honest.
I think they should combine them. That shouldn’t be that big of a deal, all it does is let some people finish events faster
It’s probably more about having people log on everyday to inflate some sort of metric/data point than anything else.

I get you, and i wont disagree.
I personally think 343 didnt have enough content to provide quick leveling. I read all the time about how progression is required for people to play. Fun isnt enough these days it seems.
By artificially limiting how people progress through these events they are ensuring players login daily and increase their chances of making a sale.
Its all about the $$$ sadly.

Oh they have content, they just like to put it in the store, lol. I mean, 10 ranks isn’t too bad, especially for the upcoming Tactical Ops event, that has some sick stuff (the helmet+helmet attachment, chest piece, gloves, utility, armor coating) As for progression, yup. I could care less whether I have to work for the cosmetics or just get them for free, as long as the gameplay is good and brings me joy. You aren’t going to see me playing a game I don’t like just because it has great progression. I’ll be over here playing the super fun game with 0 progression, lol. Probably why I like RTS games.
That’s a good point. Hopefully they make some changes like I gave here but they probably won’t
Part of the problem with events in Halo vs something like Destiny or Division, is that there’s no incentive to keep playing after you get everything once.
In those games you keep grinding for better weapon or armor stats. In Halo you get each cosmetic once, and you’re done. If these events had more stuff to unlock, and players took a more active role in unlocking them it would go a lot better. They should take advantage of the awful coating system and let us keep grinding to unlock the event coating for every single weapon, vehicle, and core or something.
But make it so that purchased coatings can be applied to everything.
