Just got through using as many legendary spartan lasers as I dare on the weekend warzone turbo. I’ll break down the damage:
- 2 hits to destroy banshee’s above regular
- 2 hits on tanks
- 2 hits on wraiths.
Requires a continuous amount of constant hits for just using targeting laser. It takes two hits from the targeting laser just to take out a marine without going to the full blast, against a regular vehicle its pointless trying to wear down a vehicle vs using a full charge. The red beam from is a dead give away of your position. I don’t know about the lower lasers yet, I’ll get to check them out, but the way this weapon is made its a total defect. As a legendary anti vehicle weapon a full charge should be enough to take out a vehicle of legendary class (it just makes sense), you might as well just remove the extra damage from using the targeting laser, and replacing it with something like extra armor boost or an overshield upon intial use. Or you can keep the damage sub par but make the laser targeting beam without going to full a one hit kill like a sniper rifle. As it stands though there is no balance, so I don’t even know why it is considered legendary.
Now I can give it that it has an extra battery, and recoil, however a weapon with how do I put this extra utilities is just sad. The saying for this would be “All bark, no bite”. Even with a reduced charge time, the weapon still takes to long to fire another round and score the second hit for the kill. Most people unless they aren’t paying attention or are just that courageous will get their butts outta there and wait for their teammates to take out the Spartan Laser user. Long story short the legendary spartan laser isn’t cracked up to be a legendary weapon at most it should be listed as a super rare. Please balance this weapon out so that it’s standing actually makes sense. I’ll list once more where the balances can be made up. - One shot kill like a sniper rifle on legendary vehicles, remove the extra damage from laser targeting, replace that with extra shields.
- Extra damage from targeting laser results in one shot kills, but damage from full blast stays the same.
3.Recharge time disappears after first shot but second shot will cause a very long recoil like a beam rifle, everything else stays the same. (different then one shot because one shot allows for recoil and recharge time so if you miss there will still be that split second for an enemy to track you down. No recharge means you can get your two shots off, obviously there is a penalty for something like that)
These are three available options that would make it in my opinion would make worthy of being named a legendary weapon.
