Even Forbes doesn't like Halo 4...

…at least not on a competitive level.

Don’t know if it has been posted before:

Meh, I disagree with a lot of what he said.

The only thing in that article that is in speculation is why MLG dropped Halo, besides that he is correct about the ways in which the game has fallen short, and lacked luster to a large extent.

I actually have many different reasons for why I think Halo 4 fell short and the real reason why the numbers for Reach were dropping slightly.

To be fair that post is only from a Contributor.

Kay, and why do we care about what some professional player thinks about Halo 4? It’s not the best Halo, yea but still.

That guy isn’t forbes, he is a forbes contributor. Definitely doesn’t represent the whole company. He is basically equal to any of us writing an article and submitting it to them.

(I don’t think the contributor is a professional player)

I don’t know about you, but a professional players thoughts on the game are very valuable. Look at the real sports of today, do you think the core demographic of basketball walk around saying “Why would we care about what Michael Jordan has to say about the sport?” I seriously doubt that.

They are pros for a reason, and there information should be vauled for that same reason. Not to mention they have a heighten perspective on the game seeing it is what they invest a solid majority of their time into.

Quick question: Who or what is Forbes? I’ve never heard of him/her/them before.

Seriously? You’ve never heard of Forbes?

It is pretty much -the- most important business related publication in the US.

Completely agree with that guy. It’s the exact reason I don’t like Halo 4.

I’m in no way a pro player, but I am competitive, I play to win. I like to win based on my skill, not because of some lucky ordnance drops. The old Halos were great, because randomness was minimized and whoever won was simply the better player. Halo 4 is just too random and lost many of its competitive aspects.

Btw, isn’t that ‘contributor’ on Forbes a monitor here on the forums named Tsassi?

I’ve heard of that Forbes before. I live in the UK but it’s mentioned over here occasionally, usually when they publish their ‘rich list’.
Are you sure it’s the same Forbes as the OP is referring to though? Why would a business publication take a dislike to a video game?

Contributor or not, he speaks the truth.

The fact that its hit the forbes website and an article regardless of who wrote it shows what a high profile failure competitive H4 is.

Paul Tassi is an excellent game writer. He was one of many Forbes contributers who started writing about the whole Mass Effect 3 ending debacle and continued bringing to the national media the issue of launch day DLC and gaming’s dirty little secret of gaming writers being in the back pocket of developers. The fact that Halo 4 is now in their cross hairs is not good. Not good at all. This franchise is doomed unless 343 makes some major changes.

Did you read the new competative playlist settings announced yesterday there listening just taking them a long -Yoink- time guess thats how you get when your basically given control of one of the greatest gameing series of all time. Id reather take there time get it right on the first time then to have them throw -Yoink- into the wild and get even more people raging about it not working. Give them time i know for sure you would of probably quit just from the sheer pressure that you would be working on it.
