They brought back the DMR in all its glory. Only issue is that its model is missing a scope but I cannot wait to never grasp a commando ever again because the real gun that it was supposed to replace is finally coming back as a worthy UNSC medium range weapon. #RIPBOZO #Packwatch #YouWillNotBeMissed

I didn’t like it at first due to the insane recoil, but after that got fixed, iv’e been using it quite alot, see quite a few people using it, it’s grown on me now and nothing wrong with having commando and dmr, entirely up to the player what to use.
Some things that seem bad are not always bad, most of the time it’s just about finding a good balance
This would be awesome but I was just about to ask if there was any proof. I only heard it was rumored for Season 3, but nothing concrete yet.
What does the DMR do the commando doesn’t already do though? That’s what I don’t see…
Usually I’m pretty open to more weapons in the Halo sandbox. But with the commando operating like the DMR does but including auto fire, it will be hard to convince me the Commando isn’t objectively better almost no matter what thre DMR starts are.
Maybe 343 can prove me wrong though
I thought the DMR was meant to be effective at longer ranges than the BR. At least that’s how H4 and H5 were. So, I don’t see the DMR competing directly with the commando.
Both are actually quite different.
The dmr is likely to be a semiauto 4 shot weapon. 2 shots / beatdown.
You can easily count your shots with the dmr. It’s less forgiving if you miss 1 bullet because you have to wait for the next shot. You shouldn’t have any recoil with the dmr.
Commando is literally a Cove Carbine reskinned and ruined.
Justice for my boy or bring back Cove Carbine and bury this trash.

Most likely going to be a Tier 2 power weapon. However, what it will be is a great replacement for the commando in modes like SWAT.
Only people who can’t aim hate the Commando.
Im very much of the opinion thr design of the DMR in Halo Reach has done lasting damage to the franchise.
The Battle Rifle in 3 was medium range at best due to its random spread. The Snipers in 3 were the only long range weapons, and they were uncommon at best. This encouraged more frentic close range encounters where a variety of weapons could shine.
Then Reach had a pinpoint accurate rifle that did immense damage at any range. This changed Halo from that close range miasma into a skeet-shoot where players would pop into and out of cover to let off a couple of shots. Duck Hunt, basically.
4 and 5 carried this forward with their own DMRs, while also increasing the accuracy of the BR. Infinite also increased the BR’s accuracy where its also a laser beam with no spread. Tthats what makes me concerned about the inclusion of the DMR, because the game already has issues with the BR cross mapping people, I can’t imagine it’ll get much better with the DMR in the mix too.
I agree there. Thats why Reach is probably my least favorite multiplayer in terms of fun i had playing it (had more fun in 4 and 5 i guess but those are still bad Halo games, especially 4). The DMR was so overpowered its insane to think they left it as a spawn weapon. Had it of been a rare weapon that was on the maps it might have been fine. I am glad that Infinite finally made the AR not trash and let it beat the BR at short range so i hope they keep that going with the DMR. If it can beat the AR at short range again it will be dumb OP and ruin what i think is the most balanced sandbox we have ever had, each gun has a usecase and its awesome.
Commando is pretty good in Tactical Slayer/SWAT.
If you master the weapon, it’s easy to get multikills with it.

The commando just needs a buff to aim assist and it will probably be better off. A tiny buff though. It doesn’t need to have the same amount of aim assist as the BR because that defeats the purpose of the commando’s skill gap.
Glad the DMR is making a return though.
As I’ve said before, the Commando isn’t supposed to go toe to toe with the BR. It’s a step up weapon between the Sidekick and BR. I’m imagining the “DMR” will probably be something between the BR and Sniper, or an unscoped BR for ranked.
